Yeah my oldest i think is around 20-30 years old. My comic stash is at my mother's house in a store room. But I havnt got passion for comics anymore, i guess for me it was something to do, something to escape into. I didnt know that i would personally read anything; I read alot of books now (historic mostly) so i guess it was a thirst for reading that spawned my comic days. True or not i still have a stash of comics that i occasionally read that i dont really seeing myself keeping
(yes i know i dont capitalise my "I"😉
I imagine that if the world ends, my comic collection will eventually be used as the blueprints to begin manufacturing them again. Think 'The Book of Eli', without the religious overtones.
But that would also require my external hard drive, a computer, and electricity surviving... Which is unlikely. I'll cross my fingers anyway, though. leftright

I have a few bins of physical comics at my house, but yeah, the HUGE percentage of my comics are digital. I think I have around 600GB worth, or some shiz.
600GB?!?!? Thats a helluva lot of space. Isn't that like over a quarter of your space even for the most high tech computer?
I'll just end up on comic book hoarders or something in 60 years.
I honestly don't see much in terms of any significant appreciation in value (sorry Spawn #1 the first comics I bought with my own money) unless print medium get completely toppled by digital distribution (which I honestly don't see happening any time soon). If you want to collect something that will sky rocket in value buy toys and whatever the newest fad trading card game is (pokemon, yugioho... whatever), anything kids like now. Why? Because kids can't take care of anything. 99% of the product gets destroyed and 20-30 years from now those kids are all nostalgic for the same crap that has all but disappeared from the annals of time. That is what my dad did and he made out like a bandit when he sold his collection.
Downloading is legal in Canada, but I try to only dl comics I already own for a scan... because whoever scans them does a much better job than I would. Merging two panel spreads, editing out folds, colour correction... I wouldn't do that shit, but it is nice to have a clear scan. Plus it is easier to organize digital comics.
