I'll just end up on comic book hoarders or something in 60 years.I honestly don't see much in terms of any significant appreciation in value (sorry Spawn #1 the first comics I bought with my own money) unless print medium get completely toppled by digital distribution (which I honestly don't see happening any time soon). If you want to collect something that will sky rocket in value buy toys and whatever the newest fad trading card game is (pokemon, yugioho... whatever), anything kids like now. Why? Because kids can't take care of anything. 99% of the product gets destroyed and 20-30 years from now those kids are all nostalgic for the same crap that has all but disappeared from the annals of time. That is what my dad did and he made out like a bandit when he sold his collection.
Downloading is legal in Canada, but I try to only dl comics I already own for a scan... because whoever scans them does a much better job than I would. Merging two panel spreads, editing out folds, colour correction... I wouldn't do that shit, but it is nice to have a clear scan. Plus it is easier to organize digital comics.
I'll stick more to digital now as it saves space. I invest my money into other things for passive income. I'm not sure if I'd sell my old stuff. Depends.

If you have comics you don't want find someone who will appreciate them. If not via ebay or online sales, perhaps donate the child friendly issues to a local orphanage or kids hospital.........
........ 😆 I can't say that with a straight face.
Burn them in a ritualistic bonfire with naked dancing. Careful not to accidentally give yourself exotic burns, though. Voice of experience ✅
my electronics i give my friends to read through but almost 99% dont read them..
it's something to do when bored, usually i give full volumes..
aside from that my real comics are in my closet i horde them and i'll die with them no one will benefit from them..
my kids or family would just sell them and keep the money. i rather they decompose with me..
😒
