I have an ansewr as to why th Vong can't be felt by the force...
...and I'm not a friggn fanboy or addict of SW, (even though i'm making a fanfilm of SW...that's another story) but I just thought up a simple answer to lay all of these querys to rest.
What if the Vong's genetic makeup dosen't allow for them to be felt through the force? Like a liveng shield? The Ysalimaarii were also living beings...but it doesn't mean they didn't exist through the force.
It's like a person wearing a lead sheet over their 'knads when they go to get an x-ray. They DO have bones under there, but you can't see them.
Y'know what I mean?
Yeah, they kinda answered that at the end of NJO. They're more...hidden from view, Force-wise that is. They were stripped of the Force by Zonama Sekot and the planet ran away. It's feasible in SW, but rather disappointing.
And IMO, the Ysalimari were even worse than the Vong. They had no explanation, they were just a plot-hole.
Bastards.

What is this I hear? The ability for them to exist?
