Game Ideas

I don't mind seeing a Square-Enix vs. Capcom. I think that would be a pretty good idea.

that actually sounds like a good idea.

Yeah. The person behind TvC and MvC3 said that it would be interesting to do a game with them:

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/interview/20834

An MMO that differentiated each class with entirely different gameplay mechanics, i.e. you could have first person shooting gameplay for a soldier, real time strategy based gameplay for a general, menu based gameplay for a mage, beat-em-up gameplay for a streetfighter, swordfighting action gameplay for a samurai, vehicle simulation for a driver etc. Does anybody know if there's currently anything like that on the market?

A choice based story driven game, rather than with a morality system, a system based on Sigmund Freud's structural model of the human psyche.

A shooting/swordfighting hybrid, where you control a character who wields a giant sword that fully encompasses his entire body; he can use this weapon as a sword, as a shield, as a battering ram, and where the shooting elements come in is that he can also use the sword as a portable cover device, whereby he can impale the sword into the ground, and proceed to arm himself with guns and shoot from behind the sword, using it as cover.

"Fate Of the Union: Liberty or Death"

A fighting game with the US presidents as the roster, totally re-imagined.

Abe Lincoln VS Drew Jackson. EPIC BATTLE!!! Who would B the boss of such a game?

Enough said.

This idea is absurd. And I love it.

It would allow me to legitimately say "George Washington is top tier."

I expanded on this epic idea on another forum for shits and giggles. Came up with this:

Possible characters:
George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, Bill Clinton, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Richard Nixon, Theodore Roosevelt, and William Howard Taft.

Special moves:
GW - Revolutionary Crush. I recommend a beastly combo, or the screen goes black and suddenly GW has a cannon aimed at his opponent's face, and fires.
AL - Four Score and Seven Year Rush. Beastly combo. Other possibilities: A More Perfect Victory, Gettysburg Bomb.
TJ - Declaration of Domination. He writes a fiercely insulting document and mails it to his opponent. Once it arrives in a week or more, this attack does massive damage.
BC - Lewinsky Special. His opponent is sent before the Senate for removal from office after being impeached. Massive damage awaits the foe that is removed from office.
FDR - Great Depression Punch. He deals a punch to his foe that is packed with the power of ten years of poverty across a nation.
RN - "I am not a crook!" Nixon strikes his famous pose which disorients his opponent, opening them up for a combo.
TR - African Safari. A stampede of animals that the nation had not seen before charges into his opponent.
WHT - Stuck in the Tub. Mr. Taft takes his bathtub and smashes it over his opponent's head repeatedly, until they break through, getting it stuck on their heads.

Possible bonus characters:
Uncle Sam, Thomas Paine, Benjamin Franklin, Senator Joseph McCarthy, Barack Obama.

Is it perfect? Nah. But I think it's hilariously awesome.

A game where the developers actually listen to Extra Credits. T'would be a turning point in gaming.

OR

A horror game thats actually scary, rather than just gory with jump-cuts. BRILLIANT!

How would that even woooooooooooooork!?

'You banged your mum. +6 Oedipus Complex.'

I do have one serious game idea, but am too lame to post it right now. Maybe when my courage is high enough.

By that I believe he was referring to the three parts of the psychic apparatus that Sigmund Freud defined in his structural model of the human psyche: the Id, Ego and Super-ego.

The Id comprises the unorganised part of the personality structure that contains the basic drives. The Id acts according to the "pleasure principle", seeking to avoid pain or unpleasure aroused by increases in instinctual tension.

The Ego acts according to the reality principle; i.e. it seeks to please the Id’s drive in realistic ways that will benefit in the long term rather than bringing grief.

The Super-ego works in contradiction to the Id. The Super-ego strives to act in a socially appropriate manner, whereas the Id just wants instant self-gratification. The Super-ego controls our sense of right and wrong and guilt. It helps us fit into society by getting us to act in socially acceptable ways.

As I would envision it, the basic idea is that the player takes on the role of the Ego construct in that he makes choices, but that those choices would be influenced by the Id and Super-ego constructs; the Ego construct would lean towards the Id or Super-ego constructs to differing extents as determined by a personality test at the beginning of the game. Once determined, series of potential choices would be grouped together in different phases, and within each phase you would have a certain allocation of points that would correspond to the two different constructs. Points would be spent on each choice in a desired ratio, and each phase of choices would utilise the exact number of points you would have been allocated with, in other words you may have ten series of potential choices within a single phase, with 30 points allocated to the Id construct, and 20 points allocated to the Super-ego construct. You would have to allocate 5 points for every set of potential choices, with the chocie that you get to make determined by the ratio of Id/Super-Ego points, e.g. a ratio of 2:3 (Id😖uper-ego) would slightly favour the Super-ego construct (essentially corresponding to a choice that slightly favours socially acceptable behaviour over your basic drive for immediate benefit), whereas a ratio of 5:0 would lean entirely in the direction of the Id construct (in other words acting entirely with the drive for immediate benefit in mind in a manner completely unrestrained from thoughts of social acceptance).

A basic idea regarding the camera speed or sensitivity in an FPS: having a primary and secondary mode of sensitivity. The primary mode would be the usual camera sensitivity that you would naturally use at a speed that you're comfortable with and can use effectively. The secondary mode would be activated by pressing and holding one of the shoulder buttons (such as L1, L2, R1, R2 etc. for those that don't know) and would essentially be a much higher speed sensitivity. It would be used in certain high pressure situations where you might need to quickly adjust your aim, e.g. if someone were shooting from behind you and you had to quickly turn around to face them and shoot back at them, or say for instance you were to quickly enter a corridor and find someone right in front of you and you needed to quickly get a shot off on them. The primary mode would function at your own pace and would be utilised in situations where you're in control whereas the secondary mode would be used for such high pressure situations that may catch you off guard and call upon a much quicker aim than usual.

Also, motion controlled grenades. You would hold an object that resembled a grenade in your hand and go through the motion of throwing it towards the desired location on your tv screen. You could press and hold a button and let go of it to signify the act of letting go of and throwing the grenade (without actually throwing it at your tv). The speed and motion of the maneuvre would determine where the grenade gets thrown at.

ROFL! 😆 Awesome!

Stuck in the Tub takes the cake, 4 me. It should B an instant kill move that's hard 2 land. And the Lewinsky Special's pretty creative, I was honestly Xpecting a BJ move.

Still, I like:

It could play just like Super Mario RPG. It could also include Geno and Mallow too.

Even though chances of that is little to none, at least there are some RPG Makers where it can be made. I really wish I had one. Everytime I think up this idea, it makes me really want to get a RPG Maker.

A platform version of "Final Fantasy Dissidia" that's an actual fighting game. I appreciate the RPG explore mode but I start to hate it when it blends in with fighting mechanics.

Either this or a expansive RPG that let's you explore other planets along with continent exploration. Something with a real-time battle system and also a form of combos to perform on enemies.
