Street Tourney: General Discussion Thread

I just heard the name justin timberlake
and I began to have flashbacks of Janets' "wardrobe malfunction".
Then all of a sudden, the evil justin timberlake covers her up.
Dammit!

[Chappelle jumps out from backstage and kicks timberlake in the nuts,
JP runs over and rips open Janet's bra again.]

"OH yeah!"

😂 wardrobe malfunction my ass... 😂

What?? You're not all heaping praises on MegaBallz by now?!

But yeah, Khell wins the award for most-creepy-ass-pic. Technically Justin Timberlake would have been allowed...the pic would have made a lot more sense if he had.

yeah he was in a wolverine comic... 😂

Bah, screw you people. The picture may be crap but the character is gonna own you.

If Newjak doesn't own you first. 😆

He's got a damn good amalgam, but my guy is about as unhittable as they come.

😈 you have nooooo idea with the kind of sh**storm you're about to find yourself knee-deep in when battling me then..... 😂

Don't worry Jin. Your guy won't lay a hand on me. 🙂

OTOH, I must say that if Sentry, Dizzle, JP, KVD, Scoobless (who certainly knew the Herald Touney rules), and I all thought the limits applied to the individuals and the amalgams alike, then it was clearly not obvious from the rules as written; even though Digi meant it to be implicit. It's nobody's fault. Behold the limits of text communication among strangers.

Allowing any character changes at this point wouldn't be fair to any of the players currently battling (although the thought of having my amalgam basically the same but 10 times stronger is appealing). Given that everyone in the first bracket made the error however, it wouldn't be too late to enforce the caps if DigiMark felt it was in the interests of a better tournament to do so.

If not? Game on! No sour grapes, it's just a thought.

And I still figure Khell's dude and mine for the Final. 😈 Yaaaaahhh!

well it was stated so many times that there was a strength limit for the tourney that most people would believe it meant for the finished product

i did

🙁

And yet the limits were repeatedly stated to be for the characters we were choosing, not the amalgams we were creating out of them.

but one way of interpreting that (as most people seemed to have done) was that we were limiting the overall strength to keep the tourney "powerful street"....... it would not have been difficult to have made a character with strength well beyond the limits of Spider-Man had most of us tried

just a big misunderstanding

Everyone is at least class 15, right?

It's no big deal.

I guess I now have a valid reason if I lose first round

"... I didn't know the limits of the tourney..." 😮

um.... no.... 😮

ha ha ha, I was well aware of this rule before digi stated it. everyone will cower at my amalgam lol

maybe if Digi alters the ruling slightly and says that strength can transfer from one body to another... that might even it up for all us FOO's who didn't realise what was going on

😮

I'll think about it. And sorry for the confusion...it seems to be split down the middle of people who knew what was going on and those who didn't.

With an entire tourney to set rules for, and also because of how exacting we get with our rules soemtimes, I was bound to forget something. At least a few times I said it was only for the characters, not the amalgam, but I'm sorry I didn't make it more prominent.

To be honest though, a Class 10 is far from screwed. Most of the amalgams have enough equipment to take out a small army, or a bad-ass melee weapon like a lightsaber. Almost everyone has some sort of 'trump card' if they aren't uber-strong. And I can't think of anyone below class 10 (except maybe JP's guy) so really, if you argue well and match up ok against your opponent, I don't think anyone is out of it because they didn't perfectly understand the rules.

maybe not out of it.... but i figured being around class 8 at max would be an ok trade off against a class 10-15... against class 30 or over it's a different matter

Okay, here's mine. A crude 15 minute drawing of him.
