Oh, apparently Dr. SpiderHulk's absence wasn't planned. His whole area was down because of a hurricane so he couldn't be at a working computer. He just PM'd me today, and said he has only been back for a couple days...his home cpu still isn't up.

I gave him the tourney news, but then just gave him my best wishes and told him good luck in the aftermath of the hurricane.

that sucks..... how long will it be until Bush declares war on hurricanes? or weather in general?

In both matches. Anyone who is interested. Some of the massive-voting momentum we had seems to have been lost.

Oh and the current round will go until at least next Tuesday, and possibly as late as Thursday. The final matches will begin immediately after that.

So.

I don't want to seem like I'm looking past this current tourney, because we have some kick-ass matches going on, and one more week to go after that (which should also be hella-good). But a few people (both tourney participants and outsiders) have asked me if another tourney is being planned....

1. Is there interest?

2. Ideas about the tourney if there is sufficient interest in having one?

I won't be running any more tourneys (at least not for a while) but I can help get discussion going and hopefully will have a little input.

My only real suggestion is that the amalgam format gets ditched for a while. Team-based would probably be better at this point.

...all I got. Go.

What is 'amalgam'? Is that this whole 'put guys together' thing that's going on?

Perhaps some sort of 2 on 2 matches. I think that opens up some cool posabilities. Imagine seing Cloak and Dagger dominating until they run up against somebody who picked a pair of robots.

I think a little more structure to the debates might also be beneficial. Nothing too formal, but it might be good to encourage more give and take and less posturing somehow.
