Respect Green Lantern, the Emerald Knight!! · Comic Book 'Respect' Forum

I'm finally coming to the greater parts of Hal Jordans story, I've seen a lot of his feats as Paralax around on the web, and as I already liked what little I had seen of Hal I decided to read up on my Green Lantern.

So I downloaded (yes shame on me) every Green Lantern comic from 1959-2006, and have now finally reached Emerald Twilight. That was one loooong read to finally get here, but Hal has definitely popped up as my favorite DC character now.

So just curious, do you people think of feats Hal did as Parallax as done by Hal? Just finished issue 64 of v3, and he alone beat down Kyle, Superman, Martian, Flash and Hawkman. So when at a later time we talk about how powerful Hal is, is this taken into consideration?

I consider that one, in particular, to be up in the air.

He was bent on becoming a Green Lantern, he was using Kyle's ring, and we only ever saw energy coming out of his ring hand.

IMHO, that was just Hal using his GL powers.

But because he was Parallax at the time, there will always be a bit of doubt.

Cmon he had the same outfit...

He was in his GL uniform at the time and as stated, using the ring. I don't really see a reason to doubt it.

He was Parallax in so far as it happened after he re-absorbed power from Oa.

But what I'm saying is that given his state of mind coupled with his desire to be Green Lantern, PLUS the fact that we only saw energy coming out of the ring...I tend to think he was just using the GL energy.

Your Mileage May Very and I can certainly see the opposite opinion, which is why I put in the caveat and explanation in the respect thread.

A newly organized and updated one is coming soon, by the by, so if anyone sees any dead links in this one be sure to tell me so I can replace them (rather than having to go through each one individually myself).
