And it isn't so odd. Back in Roman times one of the reasons why Christians were distrusted was because the way they worded things sounded wrong to pagan sensibilities - one often brought up the use of wine and bread to symbolise Blood and flesh - why those Christians are going around drinking blood and eating human flesh. Tch tch.

We also have access to original manuscripts, and there is often archeological evidence supporting its claims.
The Bible's original manuscript is nowhere to be found, it is the ONLY original source, and nothing it says (concerning spirituality) is documented anywhere else. Such is true with most religous texts.
