peejayd this is an open forum. He has the freedom to respond to you, just as you have the freedom to ignore him.

* still wanna know what's up with him... well, another silly post like that and he will be on my ignore list...

Poll results:

Yes = 75
No = 75
Unsure = 11

It's sad to know the fact that we skeptics are few in number 🙁

Poor sample size.

Wow. That's very, very interesting! I've never heard that side before. Jesus as a concept... hmm

well, if He is a concept, the imagination who thought Him up is astounding. He is the perfect guy, so...

Well, I haven't found anyone who really knows this history of Jesus who thinks of him like you do. (I'm sure someone out there does). I think the knowledge is mutually exclusive. Hence my points about a narrow vs greater perspective.

No one person thought him up though, no one person thought up Jupiter, Mithras, or any other of the 1000s of cults around in the era when the Christian cult was created. "Jesus," as anyone interprets him, is not only the product of 2000 years of history, but different people simultaneously taking him in different directions. Some people's conceptions are important (Peter, the Pope at any given time, Martin Luther, etc). Some people's conceptions (likely yours) will matter most only to you and to anyone who buys into your conception. You're part of this process as you are not only propogating the specific evolution of Jesus that you learned, but choosing which ways to continue percieving him, changing some others, and discovering new things that you pass on.

Why?

Cause

That's a complicated question. The Bible teaches that Jesus was God in the flesh, but also that He is the Son of God. The Holy Trinity is such a confusing subject even for some people who are longtime Christians and have read thru Bible multiple times.

But ultimately, I would say that , yes, Jesus is God. Nothing would exist without Him as scripture teaches us. However, the Father and the Holy Spirit are each also God.

Polytheism rewritten as monotheism. From Yahweh and Ashera, to Lillith and Adam and the trinity. Good stories, written by men improving as elements from other stories written by men are taken and incorporated. Timeless stories which resonate with the need some have for a divine creator, something bigger than themselves, understanding of and a purpose for existence, hope, easing suffering, rules to live by, these stories have it all.. But stories by men they are and stories by men they will always be.

Oh pooty. ❌
