Well, I haven't found anyone who really knows this history of Jesus who thinks of him like you do. (I'm sure someone out there does). I think the knowledge is mutually exclusive. Hence my points about a narrow vs greater perspective.
No one person thought him up though, no one person thought up Jupiter, Mithras, or any other of the 1000s of cults around in the era when the Christian cult was created. "Jesus," as anyone interprets him, is not only the product of 2000 years of history, but different people simultaneously taking him in different directions. Some people's conceptions are important (Peter, the Pope at any given time, Martin Luther, etc). Some people's conceptions (likely yours) will matter most only to you and to anyone who buys into your conception. You're part of this process as you are not only propogating the specific evolution of Jesus that you learned, but choosing which ways to continue percieving him, changing some others, and discovering new things that you pass on.
