Jesus was a pie-in-the-sky hippie bullshitter. Like a huge majority of humans, which he was in fact human, not divine in any way, he was incapable of handling reality as it is, so he created an image of reality as he thought it should be. Any belief that is based on the way reality should be, rather than the way it is, will fail, invariably. Therefore we ought to base our beliefs around reality the way it is.
