I never even thought of it being as self-defense, which is actuallly a fairly good possibility.
Assuming, of course, that he actually DID abuse her.

I find it highly unlikely that the woman happened to have a boiling pot of oil at her disposal for no apparent reason at the moment when her husband abused her.Assuming, of course, that he actually DID abuse her.
unless it was a DeLonghi 1.5 L capacity deep-fryer or a Siemens 2.2 L capacity deep fryer.
To silver_tears: I find it absolutly unreasonable to assume that a father would trade the life of his daughter (or son) for his genitals. Are you even a parent? Do you have the slightest inkling what the indescribable love a father has for his child is? Do you not think a father would have himself castrated before he would even see his child hurt, abused, or unfulfilled? Do you know the indescribable, physical pain that comes with *losing* a child? Truth is, men have become eunichs for many reasons in history (love of family being one, love of God being another). Yes, there are vile men. But something is vile only insomuch as it lacks some quality of its being. A man who is fully a man is honourable, noble, heroic, pius, and loving. Fatherhood, even illigitimate fatherhood, can bring these qualities out in a man, and make him what he is supposed to be.

We're on a roll: two so far.
