2) Condoms are cheap so it's not draining funding

Cheap and cheaply made. 😄 They can break or have holes in them and do not stop herpes.

3) Having sex does not make you a wild kid. Did you even go to college?

Yes, it does. Can you afford a child at that age?

They are even worse in colleges.

most homes nowadays have two parents working which is much more of the problem

I will agree there. Mothers, stay home, you're needed. 😉

Scary STD pics don't scare anyone in the heat of the moment. Scare tactics are never the way to go. Explain consequences but don't act like kids are drones. [/B]

If that doesn't stop people and they are going to do what they want to do then sex ed is a waste of time. Like I've always said it is.

You can't force people to listen or care and most don't care.

Just the facts. 😉

1) What are you suggesting, that no one use condoms? I'm really not getting your point about condoms breaking (which is rare enough to hardly even mention if you buy a proper brand) or having holes breaking. Also, hardly anyone would willingly have sex with someone who had herpes - I'm just not getting what you are trying to say.

2) The point of wearing a condom is to prevent pregnancy and negate some STDs.

Please actually state your complete point because those look like childish retorts.

Childish? 😱 🙄

Condoms don't work even close to what they are reported to.
Some of the statistics are actually created by the companies themselves.

The majority of people never get a regular check up, so they don't know nor do they care about STDS, AIDS, Herpes, or anyone besides their own pleasure.

So, having sex is a high risk. Unless you wait until marriage with someone of a like mind.

You have no one to blame but yourself if you contract anything.
So, be my guest. 😉

You know what's even higher risk, having sex without protection and let's face it, abstinence is a failed institution, teens and young adults are going to have sex, especially those surrounded by their peers in a school environment.

Condoms do work, so you're claim is bogus and little more than a scare tactic. Are they 100% in stopping pregancies and STDs? No, they also don't claim to be 100% proof.

Obviously and that isn't the issue.

I have.

So, contracting a disease isn't the issue?

Why use condoms then?

It's the issue and people need to accept their own responsibility and stop running to the government for free help when the obvious happens to them.

They bring these things upon themselves.

The issue here is 'condoms being handed out in schools', which would help in lessening the spread of STDs and teen pregnancies.

So what's your issue with that? You're against helping young people protect themselves?

It is the parent's job to teach their own chidren about sex.
That's why they are their children.

It is not the government's job to help anyone with sex either way.

Unless people concede they are incapable of helping themselves.
Which means they need daddy government to help them with their life.

baby

And parents do teach their children about sex and guess what, teens still have sex, it's just a fact of life. Unless you think teens obey everything their parents tell them to the word.

Handing out condoms isn't "helping people with sex", it's making it safer for those that are going to have sex.

Are you really taking the stance that 'giving out condoms = teens will have sex when they normally wouldn't'?

Nope. They seem to have this idea that we're animals who can't control our sexual urges.

If people are going to be stupid and have sex sans protection, they get whatever is coming to them.

Some will have sex that wouldn't have because of the increased availability of "protection."

Whoever gives out anything free should be held responsible for their actions. That would stop these free hand outs.

I just don't believe in this and never will.

I'm a Christian. 😉

I don't vote for the Republicans and don't consider myself "conservative."

I follow God and the Bible first and the Constitution and Bill of Rights second.

so then you are a conservative! 😱 just... not politically.

The very, very few don't dictate what's better for the majority.

No, considering it's free and no one would be forcing these teens to take them, it isn't the schools fault. You just contradicted yourself, funny. You think people have only to blame themselves if they have pre-martial sex and contract an STD (which you're correct about) because they're ultimately responsible. So why should someone else be responsible for them choosing to take the condom(s)?

That's fine, don't believe in it, but common sense/logic proves your thoughtts to be faulty. Abstience education doesn't work for the majority. Condom's do provide a good measure of protection. So since they're goingto have sex, as it;s a natural curiosity, it's better they do it in a safer fashion.

One reason Africa is ridden with HIV so heavily, the religious heads preach that condoms are against God's will, since they "impede His work."

I fully realize that I'm talking to a brick-wall, as many religious people are this way, they take their faith and bury their heads deep between their holy butt-cheeks and refuse any reason or logic that contradicts them.

I'm mostly countering his points for anyone following the conversation, least they be fooled by his thoughts and lead astray.

No, some people might try to classify Christians as "conservative" but they aren't.

They also are not called "evangelicals" and they don't attend mega "churches" 🙄

Like a Smiley Joel Osteen or Benny Hinn's type "church."

Sex education doesn't work at all. Do a search and you will see how many high school and middle school children are pregnant and are sexually active.

No one can force anything on anyone else.
That has been proven time and time again.

Also, no one can force a child to sit in a class room and listen.

i was born and a raised a christian and i consider the majority of their views to be conservative at least by modern day ideas.

Yeah, it does. Factor in how many teens are having sex and compare it with how many teens contract STDs and/or become pregnant, the number is going to be very, very low. I for one listened in Sex Ed class.

Okay.

And your point here is we should do away with schooling altogether or?

No high schools and colleges should not give out condoms...

best thing parents can do is give their children the best possible advice and information so their children can be a little prepared for when they do have sex
