Cyclops vs. Storm

I don't have access to my scans at the moment but I'm pretty sure she creates a vortex around herself and those soldiers which in turn snatches the air out of their lungs. That's how it is portrayed artistically. I'm not debating whether she can or can't do that, what I am contesting is the description of that particular feat consider it some sort of OCD 😛.

Nope, she pretty much says, air in lungs control. (X-Men World Apart 1)

she tells him you breath when i allow it. the air in your lungs obey my every whim.

its safe to say she can control the air in a persons lungs. when you look at the art she creates a whirlwind to throw around all the other people and not the man she was talking to. she stopped him from breathing and created a whirlwind to throw the guards around all the while nehzno was unharmed. she has very fine control.

I was just thinking, isn't there something with Scotts durability that allows him to take energy damage to an extent? Doesn't he metabolize energy or something like that...?

yes, he does. he absorbs ambient energy, not just sunlight.

Again it's down to the vortex that she created around them you can clearly see the wind around him in the top right panel (You can also see the shiny wind lines in the middle panel.) And as a result all of them are flung around including the one she's talking to. He's in fact flung up towards her, his ear piece is lost. I believe the exact same thing happened to Magneto in UXM #150 when he was caught in her vortex.

I had to use the search function to find the scan.

Of course Nezhno was unharmed, if she can protect herself she can protect Nezhno.

Again by creating a vortex she suffocated them. The air in their lungs may obey her every whim but that's down to her use of the vortex in this case.

There's a difference.

It's like saying she could shoot down any plane from halfway across the world when we both know that there's an important piece of information left out from that sentence which is that she'd need the plane to be moving at a tremendous speed so that it creates a enormous disturbance in the atmosphere which she'd be able to sense.

You refering to the bit where Havok's energy powers charge him up in X-Factor?

😛 Well that one was before he blasted Sinsiter in X-Factor #30. Didn't he also do it when he destroyed the Celestials hand and free'd Cable from Apocalypse that was Psionic Energy.

😛 Well there's one occasion where that happens then. Didn't he also do it when he destroyed the Celestials hand and free'd Cable from Apocalypse?

i don't remember, funnily enough... 😖

Dude, please stop. She controlled the air in his lungs...end of story.

Uh....don't all planes create disturbance when flying over the speed of sound.

No because that style of debating is very dangerous. You just oversimplified that feat and users who haven't read the issue but read your posts will presume things like that feat could work if someone was shielded from the vortex or on someone who also had weather control/wind control.

She controlled the air in the lungs via a vortex.

Uh....don't all planes create disturbance when flying over the speed of sound.

No because not all planes that are as large (300 tons of steel) and heavy as the Blackbird (Engine is based on Sh'iar technology) can move as fast as it. And the Blackbird itself was moving at top speed.

Again that style of debating is dangerous. Not just a disturbance, a MASSIVE disturbance, massive enough to take notice of it from halfway across the world.

You really need to stop this, Exodus Cloak. Storm can detect movement in her environment. She has been able to sense people walking in her environment.

In terms of the other thing, nowhere did she say she used a vortex to suffocate the guy. She said the air in their lungs obey her every whim. That is beyond what a vortex can do. In this case, she used her control over the air in his lungs to suffocate him. Its silly that I even have to bring this up when its clearly established that she can manipulate the air in people's lungs. Try this on for size, she was able to manipulate the pressure in BP's inner ear. The fact remains that she can control the forces inside of people and object. She instantly dropped the temperature within a gun 200 degrees.

Yes but can she do this from half way across the world? The disturbance of a person walking in China won't register to her because it's not large enough.

These days we don't need reams of babble from a certain hack writer to tell us what happened. It's clear from the art that she used the vortex to manipulate the air in their lungs. C&C are not Claremont.

Have you ever been on a plane when it's about to land? That's how she pulled off the ear thing.

LOL! This is desperation at its zenith! You are trying anyway you can to take powers away from Storm since it makes her that much harder to beat in combat. Personally, I could argue that the wind on the page was not a vortex. I don't see it spinning nor is it stated anywhere on the page that there was a vortex. Those winds could be blowing in a straight line. Everyone is being blown to the right on there. Two can play this ridiculous game you play.

The lady can control the air in people's lungs. Deal with it.

Why don't you try and give the man a proper reply, instead of pulling that usual trolling.

Go away, troll! What he's doing is trolling. He's adding to the comic what is not in the text to twist the spirit of the events that happened to weaken a character. Go away with your double-standards.

I'm honesty not. I'm one of the few people who like that Marvel has coupled her off with T'Challa.

What I'm trying to do is to try and stop the decline in Storm's popularity on these boards because of things like that.

Are you honestly trying to tell me that she can sense a disturbance in the atmosphere if a person farts in China?

lol. You are not trying to arrest the decline of her popularity on this board. You were one of the main people who brought it about always trying to devalue her. Same as you're doing now...

The plane is huge and its moving through the sky.

I'm actually starting to wonder whether you read my posts or you're just argue with me for the sake of arguing.

Because I said the exact same thing. Yes shock. The Blackbird was creating a MASSIVE disturbance in the sky for those very reasons. The disturbance was so massive that she knew that it wasn't a Boeing 747 she was hitting.

That's rich, coming from someone like you.

One of the lowlier fanboys on this forum, who just happen to bring MORE speculation to the debates than anyone else. You're bashing Exodus solely because you lack the ability to comprehend what's going on in a couple of simple scans.
