Oh I cant believe I am going to get involved in this... this childish fantasy... but LIGHTSABER dude... you are wrong. You did not build a scale version of a light saber... and I can prove it...
If you read the books, comics, and what not you will find that lightsabers are light focused by different types of crystals. Actually in the Star Wars Verse there are three different types of light sabers. I dont quite remember what they are but its something like a force powered saber, electrical powered saber, and one other kind... but I know its not gas powered.
What you have created is a neat little blow torch that is designed to resemble the hilt of a light saber. A far stretch from the actual conceptual idea of the SW verse... Dont try to argue that you created an acutal light saber.
Visually, you have created a nice effect that slightly resembles a blade... I could not do it... but then again I would not expend the time or energy on such a vain project. So you get propps for your effort... negative koodos for your vanity... mega BS points for your delivery...
As for your attempts to make a full scale torch... consider the impacts... are you going to take responsability for the major injury and possibly death that young kids will suffer in attempts to copy you... Think about it...

I did make a real lightsaber, in a scaled version. You know that you cannot prove me wrong. I admit that it is not as powerul as the fictional ones. But i could make up a theory as to how the movies ones worked and make it fit right in line with my gas laser. So you could say that it is an actual lightsaber. So when you or anyone else says its not a real one, prove it, show me a real one and then we can talk. Otherwise all your theories as to how the light flame in the move would be produced are just ramblings of those would would never invent anything or even try.
As far as me spending time doing inventions like this. i find it facinating to invent things. I have made other neat things also, but you are not going to see them.
As far as seeking atention, I do not, I merely came on here to show a neat thing I made in hopes to excite the imaginations of some here. So many things technically wrong with this...
First... Infra Red is what your remote control uses to change the channel on your TV and what computers tramsmitt data to PDA's with... Also they have IR flashlights that light up objects... but you have to be wearing IR goggles to see the light...
IR does not cut anything...
Second... your Light Saber idea of mirrors reflecting light is logically flawed and not supported by raw physics... the laser light might be reflected back and forth between the mirrors but as soon as you swing the thing the rod holding the mirrors out from the hilt with flex with your movements and screw up the alignment... and thats nothing to say about hitting anything with it...

The biggest problem, is that it would cost alot for the lasers, a couple of thousand dollars minimum. And to get them to make a combination of green laser and ultra violet laser light might be more expensive.
The problem is always in the size of the power sopurce. There are lasers that can cut through metal and thick metal at that. they could cut through other substances easily. But they need a large power source.

Ok, so I did not make a lightsaber like the fictional ones in the flms exactly. But I tried to make one that looks similar and the one I made actually had a heated flame out of it, and yes I am very careful not to allow anyone that is young to tamper with it.
The laser idea I had would make a actual laser beam, green, but it would not be very powerful. It would make an actual lightsaber with lasers, this would be the closest to the star wars movie ever made. iI think the lasers even use crystals. I t may be a neat item for sci fi collectors, to have an actual lioghtsaber that has an extendable rod out of the middle of it with actual laser light, ( green) seen and ascending out of the bottom). But again, to get the kind of power that could slice through things like butter, I am afraid I am not aware of such things. There are lasers that can cut through things but the beam focus is very close to the metal and it ha a huge power supply etc. To get a working beam to reflect back and not move the mirrors etc and to have as much power as a movie saber would be at this time impossible I am afraid. But I did make one that looks like a lightsaber, though a shroter beam and has power to burn and makes a neat noise.

One final word to all those who have no sense of adventure and invention. I think you miss the point of such a thread. It sparks our minds to wonder and to create. I fear those who attack me here would have attacked the first man who ever thought it was possible to go to the moon. they would have called him an idiot and attacked his ideas as crasy etc.
By the way I also believe, after talking to the technition at the laser company that a real laser device can be made. It is complicated but it can be done, one that has power also. I am not saying that we shoyuld make such a thing, I am just facinated with the technology and I suppose I always like the laser weapons in the sci fi films.

We get it now, you claim to have a lighter in a realistic lightsaber hilt.
I think it would be at least a little worth while for us to read your attention seeking stuff if you at least gave some technical info but you only come to brag about something that's not that impressive..

I wasn't trying to spam anyone, I checked out the site, phoned the people, talked a while with the tech. guy and it is possible to make even a light saber that reflect the beams back and still be visible. it just wont be that powerful.
By the way the blade length that i made is about 11 inches or so, not too bad for a home made one. It might be possible to get a blade length of 20 inches depending on the internal mechanism.
Sorry for bringing this back...but that guy i swear he is deluded, perhaps in 100 years people in our world might have the ability to focus plasma or some form of laser-energy that can perhaps create a "lightsaber" but as for you, unless you can prove up exactly how it can look like a lightsaber, prove how it is different from a blowtorch and tone done your pride....i mean its probably a lighter with a lightsaber hilt.. that is not impressive at all.
