It's inconsistency/writers error, not a retcon. 🤦🏽‍♂️. The New Gods should’ve been unaffected by the Crises because they’re outside the multiverse even before all the Morrison kabal BS. Darkseid has always been a singular entity.

pre, post, current ..all trash. Byrne and Evanier had the New Gods mythos locked down and making sense, Morrison came along then they scaled Superman up to soloing him. There's nothing "impressive" about this Darkseid. Pre crisis Darkseid got trapped in the Source Wall and waited 1000 years to get his ass beat by the LSH. Big whoop!

Yeah, but she”s visibly not the same as she was when she was amped. She”s likely no longer amped by all the connective energy in history, but just has whatever “ascension” amp the Hands gave her to make her a peer of the Quintessence. Either that or current Darkseid >> Quintessence >>> Darkest Knight, which definitely isn”t true.
Whether WW was amped or not. Darkseid still one shotted Quintessence whose members including the most powerful beings in existence and are highest order of beings in the multiverse. And DC multiverse contains other multiverseS now
He also should be more powerful than his previous incarnations( I.E, Darkseid war, Final Crisis etc)
Darkseid now should win this handily imo
