I read the Rise of Apocalypse mini, at base level before he gained the technology he didn't seem all that strong.
Do you think I havent read it. He showed in Rise of Apocalypse superstrenght, increasing strnght, increasing mass and height and shooting blast. With Celestial technolgy he gained complete control over his body and that is also his power.

A Pocizzle is the first mutie nizzle and that's no bullshizzle.
colossus' base strength level is only marginally greater than a human his size, either. but by using a somewhat-secondary power (in that he needs to apply it, it's not ever-present) he starts lifting tons upon tons upon tons. strong guy wasn't superhumanly strong until an accident when his powers emerged. apocalypse using his powers to boost his strength isn't any less legit than either of those cases.
and i can recall apocalypse's strength being considerably superhuman when he challenged rama tut, though i'm not 100% sure if that was before or after the run in with the celestial tech. i'm about 90% sure it was before...

Meggan can do the same thing to a degree - I don't consider superstrength to be Meggan's power.

He makes himself stronger by absorbing outside energies, not only by shapeshifting, he increase his height by absorbing those energies.

meggan can achieve superstrength through the natural application of her powers. thus, she can be superstrong. what's left to consider? i don't mean to be rude, but that's like saying havok DOESN'T generate plasmic energy because there's a step that comes before it (the absorption part.) it's all part of the powers, and apocalypse has uncalculated levels of superstrength when he uses his.
as for the rise of apocalypse, that came out much later than apocalypse was introduced, or his origin was already addressed. true, it was surely in less detail, but he was shown being incredibly strong pre-celestials in his earlier origin appearances. i could waste some time trying to dig up issue numbers for you, but this is all just knowledge crammed into my head from wasting my life at the local comic shop. knowing the guys in charge is a real bonus if you want to read older stories without paying for 'em...
Originally posted by DisappearIf the specific of the ability was to absorb a particular form of energy and convert it into strength, or plasma blasts, or optic blasts, then that is the ability. I don't see how relevant your analogies really are. Apocalypse's variability makes his strength level too nebulous for me to consider him as having superstrength as a primary power, as I don't consider Meggan to have superstrength as a primary power. Those are just my considerations i.e. instead of "can have" I prefer to take into account "at base level". Magneto "can have" superstrength using his powers, but I don't consider superstrength to be really one of his abilities either. Maybe I'm just the mean judge on the panel.
