This is a theoretical scenario as Surfer has never done so. But since we are going by that route, Superman notices Surfer needs starlight to function and cuts off his connection to it.

Two days ago you posted a scan yourself of Surfer phasing himself out of existence (To the point not even Eternity or even other Abstracts noticed) since the beginning of time and apparently also set off the Big Bang with a power blast. How could you now sit here and mention he is reliant on starlight to function (His battery pack is longer than creation) or question him using phasing effectively?

Because that's like me using Superman's highest feats and pretending that they are the norm. And his station in the hierarchy didn't change in the run. This same writer had Surfer in trouble against Thing for example and he was completely ineffective against Unseen nick fury who was considered as powerful as Uatu.
And he didn't set off big bang. The creation was started by the two devices going to the end of the universe as shown earlier in the volume.
