October Debate: The Mystery Surrounding Dumbledores Death

Started by tigress9 pages

I still think he would be more use to harry now as a spirit, he was ill and got an AK so who knows we will have to wait an see, though rumour has it we will see something of sirius in the next book wether its past or his spirit self who knows.

this is just something i thot of i dont even believe it myself
but if you can create a harcruxe through the extreme act of evil couldnt u do the same thro the supreme act of goodness wat eva it mite be
if this was tru than dd could of dne the supreme act of goodness or love and could of made a horcrux tat would keep him alive
i dont believe this because i think dd would have told harry if such a thing was tru. but then again dd did always keep his secrets...

I was rereading Harry Potter 6 and had just got to the paragraph in The White Tomb, Chapter 30 pg 645 "Then several people screamed. Bright, white flames had erupted around Dumbledore's body and the table on which it lay: higher and higher they rose, obscuring the body. White smoke spiralled into the air and made strange shapes: Harry though, for one heart-stopping moment, that he saw a phoenix fly joyfully into the blue, but next second the fire had vanished." When i read this (yes i admit i may be reading a little to deep into things but it struck me how similar this was to an event that occurred in Book 5, chapter 27 "The Centaur and the Sneak" page 549 "'you will understand,' whispered Dumbledore.
Fawkes circled the office and swooped low over him. Dumbledore released Harry, raised his wand hand and grasped the phoenix's long golden tail. There was a flash of fire and the pair of them were gone." Funny eh?

Jesus , not another 'dumbledore is not dead' thread......

Good theory, my dear air. I think you may be on to something there!

dumbledore might or might now actually be dead, either way, JKR left way to many open ends that concern dumbledore, which is very uncharacteristic for her.
I have a feeling that Snape really is good. When he and Malfoy are running from Harry, he does not allow Harry to use an unforgiveable curse on him, if he had Harry would have spent the rest of his life in Azkaban (unlees of course a special exception was made due to the circumstances.) BUT Snape also makes no attempt to harm Harry, not a single spell.
also...
Throughout the entire series Dumbledore has always hinted that he knew something about snape that proved that he was on their side. Every time someone challenges this, he never explains, but adamantly defends him. JKR would not let Dumbledore die and not explain this, especially now that it appears Snape has killed him. She will let us know why Dumbledore trusted him, or at least how Snape fooled him for so many years. I sense another big revelation approaching.
If dumbledore is truly dead he will still live on somehow, Probably through Fawkes. In The Chamber of Secrets, Fawkes comes to harrys rescue, and Dumbledore tells Harry that the only way Fawkes could have come to help was if Harry was truly loyal to dumbledore. The same theme of loyalty carries through in HBP, to Harrys last conversation with the new Min. of Magic. The school is still loyal to him, he isnt truly gone.
In GOF and OOTP, we see a less glorified Dumbledore, we see flaws and mistakes, we see him as an actual person, not always as the wise sage who knows all and is always right. People don't live forever, without the help of the elixir of life or horcruxs anyway, perhaps his time has come. But I think there is still a lot of explaining to do.
