I remember reading how the comics recently are making certain things look more like they do in the new movie.

Such as the daily planet globe, the offices etc. but in the second picture (after he catches the bullet) his emblem is now 3D & raised. Just like the new suit.

Weird.

The raised S shield debuted in the Lex Luthor mini series awhile back.

Runaways? I am not familiar with it I don't think. What happened there?

Alright, I'll check it out.

Runaways is a comic about a group of runaway kids, each one with a different background, and one of them happens to be an alien girl who gets her powers (flight and basts) from being under the Sun like Superman (they actually make a reference to Superman when she discovers her origin). They later meet a boy who turns out to be a vampire. He bites the neck of the alien girl and suffers the exact same fate as Dracula when he bit Superman.

My favorite Superman Villain.
If someone could hook me up with a cool sig with Borg here, It would be GREATLY appreciated!

The FTL Super Solar System Punch

or

From the Sun to earth in milliseconds.

Might as well put these here too. Always cool to see Supes using his head along with his other powers.

Rucka has stated in the DC forums and elsewhere that they did not go to the sun, that was NOT Sun-Dipped/Powered-Up Superman. He's said repeatedly his intention was to show an even fight, not one with power-ups like Sun Dipping, God Waves, Magic Armor, etc. Heck, the MOST sensible thing for WW would have to bring loads of magical artifacts and Kryptonite to boot, but she didn't because the spirit of the fight was pure toe-to-toe.

Unfortunately the artist didn't quite get that and took heavy license with the background, but even so, there's no dialogue or narration suggesting a trip to the sun or otherwise or even that any of the events take place in milliseconds... the nature of sequential art- difficult to guage time ACCURATELY between panels. (heck, if we use the art to judge/calculate, then she was going far far below lightspeed if using crater size alone).

Anyways, the panels speak for themselves- Superman can KO Wonder Woman- no reason to embellish with captions not wholly supported by the pictures.

Rucka said that he meant fro Superman to take her no farther than Venus.

Also, Superman didn't KO her; she just blacked out for a moment.

Don't know if this has been posted before, but this is a nice tribute. Emotional too.

Blacked out is the same thing, take note... stay in school!

Nice tribute to Chris Reeve, R.I.P ol' buddy.

It's not really the same. Blacking out is more like going into a daze. If she was knocked out, then she wouldn't have woken up so soon, especially not from the heat or collision.

no no no, i play rugby and i know what "knocked out" means, it happens a lot in this sport, just being hit and black out to wake up just as you hit the floor is classed as a "knock out" because your brain temporarily is like switched off, hence KNOCK OUT! i cant really explain it any clearer.

and by the way if im talking to a kid then i can understand not knowing what your talking about on this subject😉

Her brain wasn't temporarily "switched off" though. She was thinking to herself the whole trip back to Earth.

yea i know, you do that when your knocked out 🙁

Lifting a moutain large enough to crush Metropolis and pushing it into the sun.

Action Comics #839

Superman takes down some of his second rate villains but thats not the interesting part here. His brain seems to be working at a higher level than before as seen in the third scan.

Simple little thing here but I like the art enough to post it. Controlling his level of super hearing, perhaps evidence that he can do this with his other powers as well.

Blacking out for "a moment" is a KO, particularly in a No-Holds-Barred match like their fight, because if you black out, there's nothing stopping your opponent from keeping you blacked out. In sports, the Ref will usually demand the standing combatant to go to a neutral corner during the count, otherwise (depending on the sport), will allow the attack to continue until it's clear the KO'ed individual can no longer intelligably defend him/herself.

Again, you black out in NHB fighting and then you're finished, because your opponent WILL NOT STOP to give you a 10-count.

Wonder Woman was KO'ed.

Yeah, he shows control not only of his hearing but of his striking in executing that calculated punch on Bloodsport.

Not sure how I feel about this kind of "mathematical omniscience" since our universe is not deterministic. Definitely a cool feat if only for a period, not too keen on Superman remaining like this since it begs too many questions about neglect, effeciency, etc. The whirlwind trick is right outta Flash's playbook!

Yeah, alright, I'll concede. She was knocked out. Better to stop deabting now than to keep going off topic any way.
