I believe he took both the explosion and the shockwave. It seemed he was trying to fly away from the remains of the entropy bomb.

Pa kents even mentions the explosion before the shockwave.

actually superman is perpetually between 35-37..same for bats. and they both donned costumes around 24-25

If I remember correctly, it's from "Superman #400 (1984)".

Superman shows impressive resilience to Kryptonite, when he uses a ring made of it to one-shot Supergirl.

Superman one shots Despero with heat vision. In the first scan, Despero implies that he can't kill Superman.

Earlier in the issue. Easily plows through Earth's heroes.
