i loved that fight... its been a while since i read it though...

Superman is a piece of the puzzle, which holds everything in the DCU together...

"Superman and Batman are the linchpin to everything."

"No matter what time or Universe, some version of you two exists!"

"And when that balance is upset or uprooted..... You can call it a cataclysm, or an apocalypse, or a crisis!":

Basically, if Superman or Batman were to die, it would upset the balance of DC itself.

They are essential to existance.

Great. Now the Surfer fanboys don't have any evidence that suggests that Norrin is above him in durability. 🙂

WOW. that's a little over the top...he survived a supernova of red-sun radiation?

edit: wait a minute...it looks like a survived the shockwave and then outraced the actual explosion--which is actually a pretty impressive speed and reaction feat, considering how weakened he was.

I think he took the explosion but managed to outrace the remains of the Entropy bomb. Hence Pa Kent’s words “That would have incinerated Clark as soon as it touched him.”

Though, I could just be reading it wrong the way.

That's the way I see it as well. You can see the explosion immediately hit him as the bomb goes off. The green ball is that bomb or whats left of it.

But yeah, thats about several insane feats all in one. Durability, flight speed, reaction time, and endurance.

i'm not sure...the panel where superman is getting blown back states that the electro magnetic shockwave was hurled at him, speed of light. and then it shows him outracing "an expanded bubble of radioactive enrergy"...would an entropy bomb have radioactive energy? and wouldn't there be more to the supernova than just an EM shockwave?

it's ambiguous for sure, that's just how i read it. still, respect.

yeah... its pretty cool...

Just got done reading Act. #847. That's a major feat there with the red Sun radiation blasts and all and still pulling that off. So would this be another speed of light feat for Supes then?

I'm starting to wonder if Supes can give Norrin a run for his money....

He traveled light-years in under 3 hours. That's not up to par with Norrin's best flight speed feats but it's still ridiculously far beyond light speed.

I thought he said if he didn't make it back in 3 hours that the ship was suppose to leave without him?

That is what he said. So in under 3 hours, he flew light years a few solar systems away at the very least, fought a creature the size of a nebula (you'd have to be pretty damned fast to dodge something like that) and came back a good distance of the way.

A lot of this while in red sun radiation.

Reading this issue, there are a shitload of feats in just a few pages.

So the ship John Kent was in was light years away from the Sun-eater battle? Makes better sense now.

Yeah, he told Martha he was light years away but the ship let him see the battle.

Yea, I see it now. I thought he was telling her he was that far from Earth.

Not too bad for just being bombarded with red solar energy.

Yes. Superman was demonstrating to Johnathan the ships abilities and they overheard the audio signal for the Sun eater solar systems away.

Jonathan said he was light years away watching the entire thing which he would have had to be if the Sun eater was the size of a Nebula.

That's what I gathered as well.
