There's no point debating with fanboys, but if you want Superman surviving the explosion while at the middle of a Sun Eater just check a few pages back.
I posted some scans of Time and Time again, where he survived the explosion of a Sun-Eater while he in the middle of it.
There's also scans of him absorbing enough energy to wipe out half a a Galaxy.

No one claimed he could defeat a sun - eater in direct combat, just that he survived the explosion.

He survived the explosion of a Sun-Eater during the time and time again storyline. The blast sent him back in time.

Time and Time again was a Post-Crisis storyline. If it was Pre-Crisis Superman he would have simply flown back to his proper time period after the explosion. The storyline took place right before the Red Glass storyline. It even took place after Clark Kent revealed to Lois that he was Superman.
I suggest you actually read comics instead of trying to judge the time period by examining the artwork. 😉
