First of all let me say that I am a fan of both the Hulk and Superman. Then let me say that to participate in these forums at all you have to have a certain suspension of disbelief. We all love to use our imaginations, but come on, these are comics/cartoons/movies etc. Next let me say that although Superman has the potential to winin the beginnning, the longer the fight wears on the more the balance will tilt in the Hulks favor. I have read too many comics in my life. And one thing that i must say is that they contradict each other. Let me see if I can clear just a few tiny things up though. First lets just start with comic book encyclo-facts and etc. (I'll be using as close to an "average" version of both characters)Superman, on a bad day can pull supertankers, move mountains and toss buildings around. In this respect he starts out stronger than most versions of the Hulk. Far Stronger. He also has super speed , he can move faster than the speed of light, and he is almost invulnerable. He is covered by a kind of bio force field that protects him from most types of physical damage. Electricity seems to give him problems i guess by interfering with the field or something. He can also withstand ridiculous temps, heat and pressures and the vacuum of space. he is solar powered, by the yellow radiation of Sol, red suns and other colors either depower his field or render him for (all intents and purposes) human. He also ages slower(irrelevant for this argument). He does have a slightly faster healing rate than humans, but his isnt fast enough to make a big factor in a fight like this. Now lets break the Hulk down too, by generally accepted facts. First of all, since the hulk has had so many more DISTINCT manifestations thatn superman it will be harder. for the most part though, the ccg cards say that the base lifting for the hulk is 100 tons. Thats a pretty good start except for a few things the average chevy suburban weighs about 7000 lbs. thats only about 28 and a half. If you read the comics he regularly lifts breaks and even bites things heavier than that when he FIRST changes. (btw the hulk start has nothing to do with banner) banner cant lift 500 lbs. Thats olympic weightlifting almost, its a good thoery though. the hulks skin is almost invulnerable, the 4000 degree heat would blister him badly IF he stood there and let himself cook. but his healing factor would kick in. The Hulk has super speed too. He rarely, if ever uses it though. remember the supersonic hand clap? He never has to, or cares to most things cant hurt him anyway. the Hulk has aimmunity to almost any type of radiation except for gamma of course. Gamma is funny in comic books, especially marvel, it turns things green and can help or hurt the hulk depending on how it is used on him. The Hulks greatest feature though is that EVERYTHING increases with his rage. Thanks to banners messed up mind, this is limitless, and therefore so are the Hulks abilities. Now lets get a few weaknesses out of the way by comparing the two. First of all Supes STARTS OUT way stronger than the hulk even after you consider the unspoken ("This is WAY more than 100 tons" that you blurt out when the Hulk tosses a building). The Hulk however, has the potential to get so strong that it evens up pretty well. Like I say Supes has to get him with the first punch and then destroy him with it. Anything less than death or a knock out and the hulk starts to get even toughter and stronger and faster. 1 strength point aint gonna win it except in the card game. Second Supes is faster than the jade giant. but like I say the hulk gets stronger and therefore faster, because those big muscles propel that big frame, (Supermans speed is a combination of his strength and bio-field). Hulk wont get to light speed, but supes cant do it either wothout warming up a little. As far as the heat vision it wouldnt affect hulk too much since it is more of a concentrated bean, and even if it pierces his skin it has to get through the rest of that mass to make a hole in him, and that is while his body is healing around it. Assuming even the Hulk would stand still for something like that. The tossing hulk /. carrying hulk into space thing wouldnt work either. The Hulk can and has surivived outer space just like supes, and re entry when he was grabbing asteroids and stuff. Contrary to popular belief Supes DOES need oxygen. his body can withstand space, but he has to breath. he holds his breath. This is how it was explained to me. Supes doesnt need much more oxygen than humans. he takes a breath and compresses the air in his lungs. It does well for most space flight. But it is noted that when he exiled himslef from earth, he took a respirator/pxygen tank thing with him, took breaths and held them during interstellar flight. Hulk never has been shown to do that since he never had a reason to, but with that type of strength it wouldnt be hard to imagine him kinda doing the smae thing. Superman couldnt just throw him into the sun either. or take him to the sun and dump him in. Superman is almost invulnerable, he cannot withstand the millions of degrees of a sun. The gravity would probably give him trouble too, but that is just speculation. What Supes COULD do would be to hit hulk as hard as possible as soon as he starts to change from banner, but that isnt the Superman way, and isnt really a Hulk/Superman fight. I do think that Hulk could take a Supes punch no matter what level of strength he was on. Remember, strength and toughness are NOT the same thing. Even if he wasnt strong enough to hit back too hard or fast he could take the beating, and lets not forget that losing just makes HULK MADDER, whcih would increase his output until they started matching more evenly. Another thing in Hulks favor, Superman gets tired, almost as fast as a human. Yes Supes is solar powered and yes his body acts like a bio-battery to store the energy (hence Supes CAN fight at night) yet, at full power, that battery runs out FAST! Example is against Doomsday. he was worn out. Hulk on the other hand just keeps going. He doesnt slow down until he calms down. and that aint gonna happen with the man of steel beating the tar out of him. Supes has him flat on speed, but like i said for short distances and hand strikes supes has it, but even being faster doesnt mean that hulk can touch him. he cant get spiderman, because spiderman is agile and frustrates him, by lots of dodging and stuff, just like wolverine does. even supes misses when he gets distracted or confused etc. it has happened before. There is no Supes drops a bomb on the hulk either. Supes is more affected by radiation than the Hulk anyway. Kryptonite, gamma and solar(which is conprised of gamma and etc ) radiation affect him. the hulk only reacts to gamma, period. He shrugged off the bomb that the army dropped on him and thor like it was a mild bout of indigestion. The Hulk has a few more saving graces. He may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but he is possessed of a cunning that allows him to win even when strength isnt the issue. Superman usually tries to work the issue out first, and then HAS to smash cuz the bad guy wont just give up. The Hulk also is just plain fierce when enraged. Doomsday had nothing on the hulk in terms of all out robust smash-a buildingosity. Doomsday was doing it cuz he was just liking to do it. Hulk does it out of pure unadulterated anger, rage hate, and fear. He has a stronger impetus to win ( just had to get that out there doomsday aint really a part of this is he). but like i was saying the hulk is morew ruthless than the last son of krypton anyday. And although he has gone out of his way to stop from hurting people he has also destroyed pletny of people by not giving a damn while unleashing on a foe. Supes couldnt let this happen. Hed try his best to save each and every person if he could while hulk is trying to bash his brains out. Dont get me wrong. Supes is the Shiznit. period. I think hed win in the end, because he has too many things going for him. the hulk could beat the hell out of him for his troubles though if he wasnt on his p's and q's and not even be winded. the hulk can take down the immortal wendigo. he can take down the immortal Thor. He lifted Mjolnir, the hammer magic hammer that was supposed to only be lifted by thor and the other chosen. Juggernaut couldnt do that. I think supes could. Bottom line, in a fair fight, that placed no people in harms way (maybe transported to an alternate dimension?) Supes would have to knock the hulk out quick, and to kill him hed have to let go so much that it would kill him too. For the hulk to win, hed have to stay on his feet from supes flying. after enoughn time passes he would wear supes down and then just proceed to batter him relentlessly. Once again, for the Hulk to KILL supes I think hed almost have to kill himself too. As far as the supes moving planets thing. I think that has to do with the flight thing too, and his bio field. because a planet couldnt hold up to being moved by something that small, hed puch a hole right though it. but im just nitpicking now. im just saying that it aint Just a strength thing. Exmaple is in the supes movie. He turned the whole planet backward, by traveling faster than light, and like i say he cant just wake up and do it(post superman). he has to warm up to it, i guess like getting his batteries charged or gassing up. same with supes, except with the radiation. . no kryptonite or gamma bombs. for strategy it is supes also,. Hulk makes up for that in ferocity and ruthlessnes in battle. Supes conscience is his BIGGEST mistake sometimes. Hulk could take advantage of it. Supes wins though barely, and dies as he crawls home regretting ever meeting the hulk
