Superman vs. Hulk

Started by Cosmic Cube444 pages

Heh, look who gets "thrown into space."

Doesn't look like Hulk.

"Wow he's not -- only big -- he's fast!"

If Superman calls him fast, he must be pretty damn quick. There goes the speed argument.

"Stronger than anyone I've ever gone up against!"

Heheheh.

If Doomsday broke his arm, imagine what Hulk will break.

edit: double post

If Supes goes blow for blow long enuf, Hulk will probably kill him.

Deat of Superman part II

Cosmic Cube, why not post the page after the one I posted? I don't have it, but it appears that you do. Show everyone what happened. Superman did swing the Hulk around by the leg. Also, you show that Superman was tossed into space. Here's the difference. Superman can fly. The Hulk can't. Big difference.

Clearly overlooking the fact that Superman TRIED to grab and hold Hulk and got lobbed into space for his troubles.

Yes, he tried it the hard way and paid for it. Supes then got smart, flew like a rocket into the Hulk knocking the poo out of him, and took his leg and swung him around like a ragdoll. All Superman had to do was throw him vertically towards space rather than horizontally. Don't get me wrong. I like the Hulk. The Hulk and Superman were my two favorite characters growing up. With that said, I think that it's obvious Superman beats the Hulk this way. In a toe to toe fist fight, yes, the Hulk would eventually win, at least against the post-Crisis Superman. All the feats of strength people mention about the Hulk, Superman equaled or surpassed in the pre-Crisis comics, like hurling an uninhabited Planet through space (Superman #110). In 1958 he could produce a small earthquake with a super-clap of his hands. In 1949 he single-handedly created a sun for the Planet Uuz by crashing together its two uninhabited moons and then fueling the resultant atomic blaze with drifting meteors. In 1943, when Superman acts to avert the collapse of a massive undersea cavern, his mighty shoulders bear the weight of thousands of tons of rock and the terrific pressure of the ocean above it. (Action Comics #62, "There'll Always Be a Superman!"😉. Pre-Crisis Supes could exceed the speed of light. He did it to escape a black hole in one issue. There's plenty of other things like this, and in the end, if he uses intelligence, Supes will win.

Oh, and the Hulk's power-up isn't instantaneous. Sometimes it takes time for him to get mad enough to do certain things. For instance, in Hulk 242, the Hulk is trying to destroy a massive deviant machine built to defeat the Celestials on thier next visit. The narration states: "He just pulls all the more, straining with every iota of his strength to rip free this infernal object...becoming madder and madder, his strength BUILDING with his anger, as he tugs against a device built to withstand the power of gods!" Hulk is very powerful, but Supes has too many abilities.

I thought people were discussing Post-Crisis Supes in this forum? I thought it was an unwritten rule now, lol.

Of course pre-crisis Supes would win - he has too many abilities and all of them are ridiculous. He was faster than Flash, as strong (stronger?) as Hulk and as invulnerable as Jugs.

But if it was post-crisis Supes.... I'd give Hulk the edge...

Supes just isn't written to be as smart nowadays as he once was... he used to be a super-genius...

Nowadays he'd probably go for a fist fight (ala doomsday) and with his reduced power, he'd get whupped for his troubles...

Well, post-Crisis Supers versus modern Hulk would definitely be more difficult, but the same strategy would still work. The modern Superman has been considerably weakened, whereas the modern Hulk has been powered up to a God. If you took the most powerful forms of both characters, I'd still say Supes wins if he fights a smart fight.

everybody is harping on Doomsday beating superman, NOT TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION THAT HE KILLED DOOMSDAY TOO IN THAT FIGHT!! am the only one that remembers that?

hulk is good to go up aginst anybody fist to fist for as long as possible but he deifnatley is not durable enuff to last for ever with superman. supes got him cold in that department

Yeah, if he fights a smart fight, he could take down the Hulk.

I've said it a million times - Supes has the potential. He's got an absolutely gross mix of superpowers - speed, strength, flight etc etc.

I just don't think he fights as smart now as he used to...

Hulk has proven himself to be physically stronger than pre-crisis or post-crisis Superman. Hulk has done the impossible. He has held an energy bubble in his hand. He has crumbled pure adamantium. He overcame the matter antimatter attraction, a feat that defies fundamental laws of physics.

Pre-crisis Superman's feats weren't impressive, they were just stupid. There isn't enough mass in an entire solar system to compose a star, much less in two moons and a couple asteroids. His writers were just goofing off.

Doomsday killed Superman. Superman himself has said that Hulk is stronger than anyone he has ever fought. Even Doomsday.

Heh, and Superman will last forever? Hulk has an insane healing factor, and his skin is nigh impervious. He has regenerated from being reduced to a skeleton in seconds. He has been directly hit by nuclear bombs on several occasions, and he kept on coming. Like it or not, Hulk is virtually unkillable. He is as durable as they come, next to Juggernaut.

Superman has no healing factor. All of the damage done to Superman will be permanent, while Hulk will recover from any of Superman's blows in seconds or less. Hulk is easily more durable than Superman. Get a clue.

Ever see the issue when some little guy named "Molecule Man" drops a 150 billion ton peice of a mountain range on Hulk, and Hulk gets pissed, then lifts it? The increase may not be instant, but it sure is quick.

You mean this one?

Superman throws Hulk way after the fight is over, and he threw him by the arm, not the leg. After Hulk tells him to, he throws Hulk into the nuclear reactor room so that Hulk can absorb the impact of the bomb. Superman thinks Hulk sacrificed himself, not knowing that Hulk takes nukes all the time.

Superman could not have thrown Hulk without Hulk allowing him to do so.

cosmic cube I think you need to show them more pictures, it's not sinking into their minds that superman got his ass kicked in every freaking way possible.
