Superman vs. Hulk

Wait, when was Doomsday Rex getting weaker? Because of the Kryptonite? That would mean Superman was getting weaker too, and still kicked his ass.

I asked carver to provide scans, but he chickened out.

Typical. I'll try to find them.

Here:

DOOMSDAY REX

Superman v2 #175

Superman stops breathing at this point and has his heart jump-started. Meanwhile, Doomsday utterly pwns Martian Manhunter in one page. Then:

I don't see where he was getting weaker by the second, unless Carver is referring to his growing doubt? But then, I never knew Superman was a telepath.

Growing doubt isn't weakness, period.

he's not punching as hard as he can. that doesn't make him weak. that would be like saying every time superman holds back, he's weakened.

😬 You're telling me that Doomsday was holding back in that scene?

he wasn't as recklessly savage as he usually is, so, without being conscious of it, yes, he was holding back in a way. Superman even alludes to it during their fight.

Their was no depowering like Carver is trying to claim, unless you mean by Kryptonite.

Yes. Subconsciously.

Unless you wish to attribute some kind of confidence-based powers a la Gladiator to Doomsday? Otherwise, one doesn't really have a basis for claiming that he is getting weaker by the second.

Also, if you read carver's post, he said the weakening was happening PRIOR to the scan I posted. Whereas the scan you reposted was AFTER.

So carver must have been alluding to Kryptonite, as that was what happened prior. Which seems silly, as Superman was also exposed to it.

Or Carver was Wrong

Well, yes, but like the gladiator sandals fiasco of WWH (good times), he needs help realising it sometimes. That's IF he is wrong.

Superman was far more weakened than doomsday who was only partially kryptonian at that point and who casually overpowered J'onn after that kryptonite exposure.

The fight against Rex was totally retarded 1 st Dd beats Clark to death then in round he cant even scratch Superman.

Superman had been lifting, brah.

Possibly...or it had something to do with Loeb writing the story...mmm

he was finally afraid and unsure, had doubts, felt fear and it prevented DD from fully using his powers. That's according to superman who has a bad track record when judging somebody else's strength. But we all know that superman pulled that stunt from his fight with an enraged hulk but to a exponentially greater extent. 🙂

Superman states his strength and speed was dimenishing. That's proof enough Doomsday wasn't at the power he was at when he nearly killed Superman.
