male, seeing as hes called god and not goddess,
also, he's mainly referred to as the father,
and also he gave mary the baby jesus christ, but if he was a woman, then that'd be a bit strange...
In Wicca there is both a God and a Godess. Mother gave birth to the Son but both embody The Holy Spirit. There's alot of emphasis on The Godess in Wicca which was probably why the Christians rebeled and turned it into God. There was a serious lack of gender equality then and there still is.. What people need to realize in the genders are differant not infirior or supirior.. We all come from the same Ghost.. we just draw our energy out varaintly..

God doesn't has gender..or as well you can say it has both genders...
the thing is that God is not a physical structure and you can't refer to Him in the gender relations.
even though people generally refer to God as a He, but it is more traditional than metoric attitude.
I prefer thinking of god (note the lack of a capital G) as female. That way I understand why days like today, which I want to cancel due to lack of interest, happen.
If there is a god, of course, it should be either both genders, or neither. However many of the religions predating Christianity refer to an Earth Mother or something like that. Christianity has many good features, but nobody can deny the patronising patriarchy inherent in the teachings
