Is God Male or Female?

I say he is beyond any human characteristics. However some religions say that you can become one with god.

I believe in god because when i do something bad to someone or a sin something really bad happens to me.
Also one cannot prove there is no god. He can only believe so. So no side can prove he exists or not scientifically of course.

Male because the bible says so.

Are you sure?

I'm going to have to say male. don't think any bad of it but i will always refer to God as male because of the way he takes disrespect. i cant see a lady figure damning thousands of sinners at the drop of a pin.

Sounds like you have a very nasty god.

Have you ever heard of PMS???

argue...God and Mrs. God are discussing Armageddon...Hmmm ...I would be scared....

BTW...I don't believe that entity some refer to as god in it's essence has a sex..unless it wanted some...Then it would get some.... 😄

He is both

But as I said before, as weird as it sounds..women...are first described as being part of "mankind" in the initial versus of Genesis. God never states "Let us make man and woman"..but instead..he states.."Let us make man"

So as I stated before. Technically speaking..a woman is..well..just a type of man.

Jesus does refer to the Godhead as "Heavenly Father", but God also likens himself to a "woman in labor" and "Mother" in the Old Testament.
But If you think about it..from a spirtual standpoint..either gender can play the role of father/mother.

So anyway..I believe it's pretty safe to say that God is a spiritual entitiy..and being such makes him "gender neutral"..not really male/female..but possessing the spirtual qualities of both.

*note..I know there is a contradiction in referring to God as "him/he" and then saying God is gender neutral..no need to point this out.

Can't see a woman damning thousands of sinners..huh..I sure as heck can..remember how the old saying goes.."Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned"

The femme side of God is definately what give's him all that agression/wrath...😉

God is a female - Mother Earth is a female. Mother Nature is Female. Females give birth to life - so yes, its a Goddess.

God doesn't has gender..or as well you can say it has both genders...
the thing is that God is not a physical structure and you can't refer to Him in the gender relations.
even though people generally refer to God as a He, but it is more traditional than metoric attitude.

Good Answer

Neither, seeing as how he/she/it doesn't exist.😐

Ah but the SUN gives life to the Earth and eveything on it and the Sun is always masculine.

SAys who?

In English it might be masculine, in my language it does not have a gender. Its an 'it'.

What made English universal language of the Gods?

Universe is a God(ess) - Sun and Earth are only small part of it.

Amaterasu (Japan), Apollo (Greco-Roman), Freyr (Norse),Garu(Hindu)
Helios (Greco-Roman) ,Huitzilopochtli (Aztec) Inti (Inca) Liza (Africa) Lugh (Celt) Re (Egypt) Shamash (Sumerian) Surya (Hindu) Tonatiuh (Aztec)

MEN ALL MEN.............

You gave me the name of the Gods in each Mythology - and?

Thats not what our conversation was about - it was about masculinity or femininity of the word Sun.

Ra is not ancient egyptian word for Sun, and neither is Apollo in Greek.

Sorry you interpreted my word wrongly I was not referring to the gender of words rather the gender of God's themselves.

Ah, I see now.

Yeah sorry about that confusion 😂

Both, christians refer to 'Him' but there are also subtle references like 'Mother Earth' and 'Mother Nature' which suggest god is female. Dno tho, cant really be defined because otherwise he/she can be criticised and the whole point is that they are perfect

Many believe in Mother Earth and Father Sun....which gave birth to the Christian theology (kinda was intertwined)...Sun=Son...there are scriptures to back the sun son thing...."Sun of Righteousness."
