i av my realigous rights and my own rights! judging sum one by their sexuality is the same as judging sum one cuz of the coulor of their skin!
That is such a load of crap!!!
I hear liberals and pro active gay activists use that as an analogy and in your heart you can't believe that to be fair.
Does it ever mention in the Bible to hate or chastise someone based on their color? Yet it clearly mentions that homosexuality is forbiden.
Sodom and Gomor was partly destroyed because of of their denizens practicing bestiality, homosexuality, inbreeding etc...
To compare it with racism, to me is just an insult as a Black man.
Wow, how did I miss this gem of a thread?
Let's see. Yes. Being gay is a sin...in thought and deed. That is according to christianity. According to life, (which again, exists because of christianity🙄 ) homosexuality is a part of nature. (I'm not going to debate this part with anyone. It's a fact that homosexuality occurs in nature. If you want to rebuke anything I say, then quote this post in the chosen or genetic thread)
But, let's look at the nature of religions. Since there are so many, I'm going to go with the religion that was practiced for the longest period of time in history. The ancient Egyptians practiced a religion for some 5 or 6 thousand years. That's three times as long as christianity. A quote I've read and find to be most interesting and relevant to the religion of modern christianity reads:
"The Egyptian religion, as we have seen, was one whose creed was not laid down in a rigid formula, but was open to constant reinterpretation through cult and usage, and this in turn depended on historical influences. As a religion embodied in the cult rather than in the doctrine, it was kept alive only through the constant search of its adepts for new interpretations. It therefore adapted itself to the needs of the times and to the needs of THE PARTICULAR WORSHIPPER. The search for new symbols and divine influence went on constantly: each one was considered to represent on facet of the truth and did not entail rejection of previously held concepts. The modern student must constantly bear in mind that, unlike Greek or Roman myth, Egyptian myths cannot be considered as fixed stories."
Now, I understand if your sitting there asking "what the hell is he talking about?" My point, for those who didn't see it in the quote, is that when you consider the longest practiced religion in history, you see that it was so successful because those who practiced it understood the benefit of a good parable. That one must become enlightened through self exploration and discovery. So, you can look at the success of the ancient Egyptian religion in terms of sales and longevity. Why was it practiced with such success and dedication? Because it didn't rebuke nature...urges and instincts. It didn't deny the human part of humanity. It recognized mans divine role in nature, but NEVER set it apart from nature. A man's heart was weighed against the divine truth, and, in the presence of "the good one" was judged to have lived a good life or a bad one. But, the basic point is that the ancient religion took into consideration that life was always changing and adapting...so, why shouldn't the divine aspect of life as well?
Now, I subscribe about as much true belief to the ancient Egyptian religion as I do to christianity. But, I have more respect for the ancient religion than I do christianity. At the end of the day, it seems one had it's followers in mind, while the other didn't. So, next time I kiss my boyfriend, I don't have to hate myself...or worry about others hating me.
The Catholic church like to interfere in the bedrooms of married couples as well also making the Venus Observa or Missionary position the only legal position for martial intercourse, since it afforded the least pleasure to the wife. Patriarchal societies generally opposed much female superior sexual positions favored by the worshippers of Shiva and Hecate and also medieval witches...though natives secretly made fun of them...

I don't pass judgement on no one. I say what Jesus says is wrong and so it is wrong. Jesus has the authority to judge people. I don't want to judge people and I don't. I only say what is wrong and right, that is all.
When did Jesus, even God for that matter, say that being gay is a sin? They never did, neither God, nor Jesus, directly said to those crazy bible writers that being homosexual was a sin, that was the opinions of those who wrote the bible, not god, and not Jesus (I'm an atheist though, so it's nothing to me what they said, as long as I'm not forced to live my life by it), also, as you said, we're all sinners, so if being gay is a sin, then gays should have nothing to worry about.
Jesus maybe, God? No. Whenever God said something it was relayed by some old prophet guy who was probably high on opium, Jesus may not have even been the son of God, he could have been your average joe who goes around preaching, like Billy Graham. Jesus may have just said he was the son of God in order be taken seriously.
The Bible was written by human beings, so, even if God exists, the Bible is still fallible and gays are still normal people. I don't really see why homosexuality is that big a deal and why prejudiced christian bigots give a f.uck
Jesus and god are the same, he even said so when he said the father and I are one. when people were healed of any disease, they would come back to him and they asked where the father is. Jesus said you are looking at him right now. God took human form to break the spell of death when man couldn't do it on his own.

Exactly, break the spell of death (whatever the hell that means), not turn everyone into biased, pompous, assholes who can't think for themselves and instead use quotes from a big black book to prove a point.

We aren't talking about Jesus.
