In other words, the church is correct, and Jesus is wrong.

1) The New Testament is written by humans AFTER THE FACT. Therefore, everything in the New Testament is someone's interpretation of the events of Jesus's life.

2) It was written in a different time and language. All religious texts are translated by a group of people. Again, there is a chance for human error.

3) Most of Jesus's teachings were in parable. Obviously, heaven is not a mustard seed or modern day clergy aren't called to be "fishers of men" and throw a pole with bait into a crowd. There needs to be someone to interpret it.

[B* Buddhism is also a religion... and you said, it touches one's self and no external gods... sex is an issue about one's self... does Buddhism never tackles anything about sex?

Buddha talked about marriage, but I do not know if he talked about homosexuality. Adam_PoE maybe a better person to answer this question.

The third precept of Buddhism is to practice sexual responsibility, i.e. to avoid sexual conduct that involves deceit, manipulation, or violence.

According to Buddhism, sex can be a way for two people to express love, and to develop a caring partnership regardless of the gender of the persons involved.

You know, one can be attracted to something without thinking of it with lust 24/7.

According to Jesus, experiencing the desire is equivocal to exercising the behavior. This means that it is just as sinful for one to experience an attraction to members of the same sex as it is for him to have sex with members of the same sex.

* so as the Christianity in the Bible...

"Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled; for God will judge the immoral and adulterous."
Hebrews 13:4

* looking and be attracted to someone is not violating anything... Jesus said when you look with lust... 😉

Why would a religion care how people have sex? Buddha said nothing about how, but he talked about responsibility.

"In five ways should a husband minister to his wife: by respecting her, by being kind to her, by being faithful to her, by giving her authority, by adorning her."

Digha Nikaya 31

What is important is the way we love each other. We have been both male and female in so many lives before that what we are now is just one frame in the never ending film of life. You should not care what the sex of other lovers are. For rather they be men or women is not as important as the fact that they love.

We should be more outraged by men killing men then men loving men.

Battle of the headless.

However, the hate that the bible shows toward homosexuals is not respectable.

Basically, what I see is two people arguing about whose old text gives better defintion to proper sexual relations.

You dont use a horse to plow your fields, don't use morals from a 2000 year old (Buddhists included) piece of crap.

Try opening your goddamn eyes and think about something.

But Buddhists are open to it arent they?

* ahem... Christianity... 😉

Paul worshiper.
