You get the same thing from anyone with any sort of organized philosophy. Like you, probably.

never heard buddhist monks do it to me when i lived in california.. they left me alone and anly spoke of their believes and philosophy when asked..

hell, i actually did nice thing around them because of their example..

i did all the opposite things when i was told to by the catholic church. 😛 being a rebel and hypicracy will do that to you.

The Dali Lama said sodomy was destructive.

Watching TV can be destructive. All things can be destructive or constructive, it all depends on the person.

I can't see any Youtube videos here, so I cannot watch the video. However, I can't imagine that the Dali Lama would try to control the lives of people who are not under his authority.

Does he not want them to reach enlightenment then?

Seems a bit selfish...

Reach enlightenment? That would be like looking for your glasses while you still have then on.

What seems a bit selfish?

The Dali Lama is just as capable of evil as anyone else. Or do you wish to place him magically above reproach?

Where did you get the idea that I would think that the Dali Lama would be anything but human?

Oh yes, I see in rereading that you only expect him to cruelly manipulate the people under his direct authority. Much better.

That would be true with any kind of organization. After all, he is the deposed ruler of a concurred nation.

So that gives him leave to do as he pleases?

Since China invaded Tibet the Dali Lama has become a walking martyr who we all must respect and love because he is the enemy of a giant machine?

It works for the pope.

No, but his deep wisdom and insight does help. However, he is just human.

So the Pope does it...that makes ok for the Dali Lama?

Y-you guys know that it is the "Dalai Lama", right?

the dalai lama is just a man nothing more he is respected that is all.. like all things in the world you dont have to agree with his opinion which is just that.not divine law in any way.

you dont need to follow his example to reach or enlightenment their are many different paths that need to be specifically followed.

On Homosexuality & Religion [Merged] 😂

what were the two separate threads that merged?

I go to a christian church that supports homosexuality. I am personally gay (first time I said that on this site) so I of course disagree with the "religious" perspective on the issue, however I respect all opinions, and am never opposed to somone simply because they are opposed to me.
Besides if this whole gospel stuff is true I'll be sent to hell for way more reasons than just being gay.
