why do some religions oppose homosexuality?
seriously though? I have every right to be gay but my friends wont even talk to me anymore because its against their religion to be gay. why is it that some religions think its wrong? if someone loves someone shouldnt it not matter what their sexual orientation is?
im only asking this of people whos religions oppose it, but feel free anyone to comment.
Well, I think that religions should care about other things than someones sexual orientation, they shouldn´t say that homosexuality exactly is wrong, but spirituality is about trancending human desires, and primal needs... homosexuality won´t help you to trancend if you get what I mean.
But its not only homosexuality itself the problem, but sex is a human need... it don´t help you to be spiritual. I don´t like to say that its wrong, but it will not help you with spirituality... the problem is that some people try to give every basic human desire a divine meaning so they can have both God, and human pleasures at once and do not regret about what they do.
To start, I think the religions that disapprove of homosexuality, fear homosexuality. Thank about it, what is the most important thing in the world (besides god) to any religion? I believe the answer would be, people. With homosexuality there is no future generation, not a judgment, just a fact. It is in the best interest of a religion to have their members with as many children as possible. Religions are very old and were started as a way of surviving in a hostile world. Give people something to believe in and the human race survives.
Secondly, if a friend leaves you because you are gay, that person was not really a friend. When I was in high school, I had a friend who told me he was gay. At the time I was very Fundamentalist Christian. I had a choice to make, I could turn away from a friend or I could accept what my friend was. I decided to accept my friend, he was a true friend and so was I. Do not live in the hell your former friends have made for themselves. Smile and be happy, because happiness spreads like wild fire. 😄

Basically it is because it goes against God's plan for marriage and intimacy for humans. I believe this also but I don't go so far as to not talk to gays.
I'll gladly talk to you and tell you what I think about the subject and if you don't want to hear what I have to say I won't say it. God is the judge not me and it is my duty to love everyone as Christ loved me regardless of sexual orientation.

Religion is limited to someones culture, and belief, in my opinion it doesn´t even need to exist.
On the contrary, God is eternal, and it don´t have to adapt to ourselves, its us who have to adapt to it. God is nature, and nature does not adapt to ourselves.
Religions have long known that sexual repression is a good means of control... make people believe that something natural and fun is a sin, and you have them by the balls.... as for homosexuality, the superficial reason that Judaeo Christian religions are anti is all down to their god's promise to make of them a great nation.... obviously, homosexuality would prevent this... in reality, its all down to their fear of being part of the natural world.. once man becomes just another mammal, they can no longer feel special... but we are just another mammal, and 20% of most mammalian populations are homosexual...
