This is one amazing article about why someone who isnt a hardcore gamer, may buy a Wii. I dont agree with a few points he makes however I agree 100% that video game consoles should only be used to play video games. There really isnt a need to have the ability to watch movies or play music on it.

I probably won't be getting a Wii right at launch (though who knows) but I do hope to have one by Christmas-time (as well as a DS). If I don't just pre-order from EB (which if I get the job there I will definitely be doing because yay discount) I'll probably order from there.
Yes, sadly, they have only managed to open up DVD sales in the States.
In the UK, if you are ordering DVDs or video games, they are markedly better than Amazon- first class post, no payment, ebven for overseas orders.
None of the sophisitcated favourites or recommendations system of Amazon, and only doing DVDs and games as I say, but for those, much better.
I just checked the site. Does the fact that it's not American have any effect on what you order? Would the Wii still play all the games over here?
They also say that it's available August 6th and the fact that I don't know how to convert their prices to dollars doesn't help either.
