But thats comparing two completely different things... Consoles are supposed to appeal to the everyday gamer, not filthy rich people. Sony just dug their grave IMO... I mean all of the little kids who don't have jobs and want a PS3 are going to ask their parents right? Well, when their parents go out to get the console and they see a $600 PS3 next to a $250 Nintendo... what do you think they'll buy?
I'm not arguing that. That wasn't my point.
I was arguing that's absolutely asinine, pathetic and just plain immature to actively and provactively bash a console as defunct or broken simply for it's price.
Saying the PS3 technology and games suck because you can't afford is just immature.
On that note, the PS3 currently isn't being marketed towards children. It never has. That' Nintendo's forte. It's being marketed towards young adults and adults.
The demand of PS3s clearly hasn't dropped. It's preorders have already sold out and people are willing to spend $3000 on Ebay for the system. The demand for PS3 is almost considered inelastic by the numbers because people are still buying it for the $600 price.
Also, it's rather early to judge the market since both systems are not out yet and the business cycle hasn't begun. The best time to judge the market is not at the release date but at least two to three years from now.
By way, did you know that the PS2 was sold for $500 dollars when it first released? That's the same price as the current PS3.
Sony didn't dig it's grave then now did it?
Yep, Sony's gonna crash and burn all right:
All those people in line willing to spend $100 on a PRE-ORDER that MAY get them a console on release. That's how high the demand for PS3 is.
