There will probably only be one game out of the PS3s launch library to get a 5. And right now, that game's looking to be Resistance. Everything else looks like shit because they're worried about graphics. Right now these games look no better than 360.
I've seen some actual gameplay videos for PS3 stuff...it's not all that impressive. Graphics are so-so and definitely NOT what they're claiming PS3 can do. Some are barely better than PS2 graphics.

Assassin's Creed looks quite nice, though our lovely PS3 video DVD we got at work doesn't have any gameplay vids from that, just pre-rendered stuff.
Yall don't think that game with the Red Headed Women fighting in the Aren looks nice?
The title of the game has the word "Sword" in it I think or "Blade".

It's Heavenly Sword, I think...something like that. And it's okay, but still, not stellar.
Lair was probably the best-looking of the games I've seen so far, but again, didn't see actual gameplay for it.

Dude. Wtf? No. I'm not worshiping the Wii like a god. I'm simply excited, like everyone else, here because of the gameplay possibilities. Nintendo's going to make things fun again. Watch. It isn't JUST about graphics you dumbass. If you think that's all a person buys a game for..you're sorely mistaken.
I didn't say it was just about graphics, however if you are relying on simple arcade style graphics(games like pac man, tetris,Qbert .etc. these games although fun you can't really make a version for the new concoles that would be better than the arcade version) than don't bother upgrading your console just use an atari, or older console. One of the major console selling reasons is the games and alot of game companies are going to be pushing the limits of the Next gen consoles in graphics and processing capabilities. Think of the graphics, the action, the gameplay and the storyline. If you want to play some of the best games than you may have to get an Xbox 360 or Playstation 3.
(for instance one game that I am eargerly awaiting that won't be on the Wii is Stargate Worlds which (unless they chang this, and they better not) is spanded across Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and computer systems)

Resistance looks to be the most complete though. Everything else..eh. Even WARHAWK looks like shit, and controls like shit. And that's a game I've been looking forward to.
Yeah I'll have to agree here (from a Microsoft fan point of view, of course.) Out of all the games coming out at launch for the 360, Resistance looks the most complete.. and still doesn't look that fun. Looks generic if anything.

You seem to think that graphics options are limited to either 8-bit or next-gen shiny extravaganzas. They're not. Duh.
Sure they're going to push the limits. As far as tech goes, that's what limits are for: to be pushed, prodded, worked past, and broken. But while that's heaven for the developers themselves, the gamers that actually buy the game don't see those numbers. They see the game. And unless proportionate attention has been given to gameplay, they're not gonna see much of it, because they won't be playing it.
That's why so many people are excited about the Wii, despite the fact that it's not graphically as advanced as the other two platforms: It will allow new and interesting forms of gameplay.
The purpose of graphics in a game is, ultimately, interaction. Developers intend for realistic graphics to immerse the player in their world, to make it real enough that you lose yourself in it. The Wii simply allows for interaction in a different form by saying "Why push a button to swing a sword when you can actually hold that sword in your hands? Why use a little stick to steer a car when you can hold the steering wheel instead?" That's what people see in the Wii, and that's what will make the Wii sell.
So why do you think some of the best games will be on the PS3 or 360? I think all three will have "best games," and I can guarantee that they won't be "best" because of shiny graphics. They'll be "best" because they were the most immersive and the most fun.
one thing I don't like about the Wii is that every deminstration I have seen of someone playing the games they all look stupid swinging the controler around. I bet its fun but it just looks stupid. Kinda reminds me of the power glove for nintendo damn did I feel stupid playing punch out with that thing on.
Well you don't have to be as enthusiastic with the controller as they were. They were doing it for promotion so of course they were going to over do it to sell the product.
But the controller doesn't actually require you to move so violently.
Although it is quite tempting.
I love those Japanese Girls.

Yeah but damn do they look so unnatural swinging that thing around. It reminds me of my wife when she plays a racing game turning the controller and her whole body so bad that she falls off the chair.
Does anyone know if they have plans for a sword fighting game yet. Because that would be cool to battle someone using the controller as a sward.

Sword Fighting in Red Steel, Twilight Princess, that one Dragon Warrior/Quest one... you use a scalpel in Trauma Center, does that count? 😄My little bro stands up and jumps around when he's playing games. 'Specially Smash Bros.
I would kick my little brother in real life if he started acting like a spaz while playing next to me.
Also Games like Phantasy Star Universe and WoW would have an interesting twist to them on the Wii, but my arm would get tired.
