I could care less about graphics but it doesn’t matter what I care about it only matters what the world cares about. And if you don’t think that almost every gamer in this world doesn’t care about graphics you’re a fool.
Buddy, if you think most of the world buys a game/console simply because it looks good, you're wrong! Look at a lot of gaming magazines, does it look like they rate mainly on graphics? It's a factor, yeah, but there's also fun factor, sound, replayability, multiplayer, controls, the list goes on. What happens when the gameplay goes to shit? If Half-Life 2, as an example, had excellent graphics but annoying situations, impossible bosses, ridiculously cramped environments, etc, I don't think it would have been as popular or as high rated. I didn't buy Half-Life 2 because of the graphics, I bought it because of the interactivity of the environment. I bought it because of one: the Gravity Gun, and two, the incredibly interactive and well-thought out environments. Gameplay is also why I play NFL Blitz on an N64 instead of going with the latest Madden. Personally I wouldn't spend $200+ on a video card unless the game required me to upgrade because it ran slow, it didn't work at all, or something along those lines.
