The PS3 is NOT more powerful than the best comps out there now. You haven't seen demonstrations of the processing power of quad CPUs, have you? the PC has been, is, and always will be more advanced than console platforms.

You were talking about the 2010-11 generation. By that point, yes, cell processors will probably have sold enough that their worth has decreased. Then again, anything can happen.
And about computer shops? I can build a computer that would be a top notch $1000 system last year for about $500 now. Tech loses value as soon as a better version comes out.

Running on four Intel core processors. the PS3 simply is not strong enough to create the texture quality, lighting, or physics that a quad-core PC can. And that's current tech; quad-core systems like that will be available for consumer purchase by the end of the year.

Anyways....I have said my points and opinions so I will no longer waste time with pointless argueing.
Has everyone seen the new PS3 and XBOX360 commercials. I haven't seen anything for the Wii yet but PS3 has two that I have seen and rubix cube solveing itself then blowing up, and a creepy ass baby crying in awww of the PS3. xbox360 has a gears of War comercal out as well.
I think the PS3 rubix cube comercial is lame but the cryn baby is a creepy as hell I like it.

Graphics are just one part of the console entertainment experience. if graphics are important then why does the DS sell or the PSP for that matter. Im not saying they are crap but they do sell and its not just because of graphics.
Saying that the masses only buy for graphics is a gross underestimation of the masses. I guess that graphics are why the Gameboy family is the best selling game platform series of all time?
That PS3 baby commercial is the creepiest commercial I've ever seen. Especially when it laughs, you just know there's a freaking helldemon in there.

Graphics are only one part of the console. But the Wii has game play in the bag you really can't compete with that. So the Xbox360 and PS3 are fighting for one thing Graphics. The PS3 has to prove it has better graphics for anyone to buy it (except the fanboys) if the PS3 fails to prove that its graphical capabilities are better than xbox360's with in 2 years its dead no matter how good the game play is. This is a battle of graphics everything else is just fourplay.
The DS out sales the PSP for so many reasons. PSP is double the price of the DS nobody wants to pay 250 for a hand held system that’s battery life only lasts around 4 hours. The DS has Mario. The DS has touch screen which is cool as hell in all the Mario mini games. WiFi was done very good and is so easy. Nintendo is the King of hand held’s and has been since the first gameboy. Even if the PSP cost the same as the DS the DS would still be out selling it, because if someone said that would trade there PSP for my DS I would laugh and maybe spit on my hand and slap them with it.

Your missing the point. game play has nothing to do with the console(except for with the wii). Gameplay has to do with the games. If the games are made well the gameplay will be good. If the new Grand Theft auto is released on both systems the game play will be the same. But if it looks better on the PS3 then people will want that one. Also it doesn't matter what you would do.
Side note; Xbox360 has only had one game that scored 5 stars on Xplay and that was elder scrolls 4. Most of the games Look nice but have HORABLE gameplay because the first year of development the main focus is on graphics after they prove there graphic capabilities then they start releasing the really good game, and yes the first year of PS3 will be filled with crappy but nice looking games to try and show off the console. The PS3 and Xbox360 are battling for Graphics.
