well said..

I also agree to office jesus.... nice name by the way.

Ahaha. Thanks. Next to Sega's Dreamcast, I believe that the Wii is one of the most highly anticipated system launches..ever.

...a somewhat worrying comparison, that. ermm

Let's hope that the Wii can outlast the Dreamcast's cycle.

Wii60 all the way.

Its blatently obvious that the next gen consoles are going to expensive. Its not sonys fault that the console costs so much. eg. 15 years ago heaps of stuff was dirt cheap, for instance I remember being able to buy a pack of chips for under a dollar but now the same size pack costs 3times as much.

If you think that the Xbox III and playstation 4 are going to be cheaper than the playstation 3, than you are kidding yourself, as the technology inside these consoles get better than the cost will undoubtedly increase.
I think that the playstation 3 is expensive for a next gen console, but it is more powerful the best computers out currently and costs less. Yes it would be good if it was cheaper but the cost of building it has to come from somewhere.

The Wii may be a good console but ultimately it will only appeal to the die hard nintendo and arcade fans. The playstation 3 and Xbox 360 will set the benchmark of the new era of graphics and game play. If you are a Halo fan than the Wii just won't cut it.

I doubt that blu ray will fail. HD dvd perphaps.

Sorry, but as new tech is invented and then used, it actually becomes less expensive, as there's more of it to buy. So when the next-next gen comes, the new consoles will be only marginally more expensive, not $1000 blowouts.

The PS3 is NOT more powerful than the best comps out there now. You haven't seen demonstrations of the processing power of quad CPUs, have you? the PC has been, is, and always will be more advanced than console platforms.

The Wii, according to first-hand impressions, appeals to both hardcore gamers, casual gamers, and the apparently elusive category of "non-gamer" gamers, I.E. your mother. The PS3 and 360 are the "hardcore-only" consoles, because they both focus on delivering high graphics. If you are a Halo fan, or course the Wii won't cut it, but then again, neither will the PS3.

Yeah, those quad CPU's are insane. To not forget having 2 videocards at the same time too.

When the PS3 was first announced, PC's were around the same tech as the PS3, but considering that was 2 years ago, PC's can be alot more powerful than the PS3, and two years from now, I dont wanna know how crazy PC's will get.

Two years from now, I expect my PC to have full VR capabilities, dammit.

Will the PS3 have VR in two years? I didn't think so.

Closest thing is the Wii controller. 😄

I'd say it's more likely for blu-ray to bomb than HD-DVD, honestly. The vast majority of people have NO clue at all what blu-ray even is. HD is a bit easier to figure out exactly what it is.

Though both are untried formats, so who knows?

The fact that there's so many issues with blu-ray though certainly does not bode well for its future.

Probably not nice to quote the same post twice, but I had to point this out. Your chips are not more expensive now because they invented better ingredients, or because those ingredients can do more things. It's called inflation. Your chips aren't worth any more now than then, the fact is that your money is worth less.

Yep.

I remember those days when I walked to school with no shoes, uphill bothways in the middle of winter and writing arethmatic (not math) on chalkboards. We didnt have those smanzy fancy things called "furnaces", it was just a big pot of boiling water on the stove to keep us warm. Toilets you say!!! We had to walk outside to the outhouse in the cold without socks and I remember how all the time I used to get the stick and dunce cap when I was bad.

And yes, General, I want VR for my computer two years from now...heck, non retina burning VR is all I ask for. Atleast with no eyes, you can still wave the controller around and still play the Wii. Can an PS3 do that. I THINK NOT

It's pretty much obvious that Avenger there is your basic Sony fanboy. IE, "PLAYSTATION RULZ! EVRYONE ELSE SUXORS!" Trying to pound simple logic into him won't work, 'cause he's had his mind brainwashed. 😄😄

Yeah. It'll outlast it. Simply because of the gameplay possibilities. Worrying comparison, yes, but true nonetheless. Not since the days of yore has a console been this highly anticipated. Once everyone dunked their heads in water, they realized how full of bullshit Sony was about PS3. That's when everyone started to get excited about the Wii. 😄😄

I also remember someone by the name of PERSIAN (may have spelled name wrong) but he was also a funny guy. Would defend PS3 till he was blue in the face.

never heard of him..maybe i didnt check back far enough lol..

and twilight princess being the most highly anticipated launch game of all time..BOOYAH!

alright, i need opinions. i know everyone is sort of biased in favour towards the 360 here, but what should i get? what are some reasons i should get a 360? i want to get one, but i dont wanna spend 600 bucks on something that i wont get my moneys worth out of.

We (most of us) aren't biased towards anything here, we (most of us) just have common sense.

Now is probably as good a time as any to get a 360, though. What with Gears of War almost out and everything. That's supposed to be like the second coming of Christ or something. 😛

Yeah, I have an XBOX 360 and I love it.

Considering I never had any other console other than Nintendo's and an PC. That goes to show you how good Gears Of War looks like.

A fan boy am I, I'm not the one worshipping the nintendo Wii as a god.
