I'm completly guessing, but the majority of consoles, if not all are Japenese...or atleast the major ones. Aside from the XBOX, I cant see any other non Japenese console out there.

Maybe that's a reason?

The Japanese don't like the Xbox because the name Xbox represents the small homes that they live in.

Xbox is slang for a dirty small Japanese home.

Does anyone else enjoy the irony that Sony's stupid blog IS generating viral marketing... with the complete opposite effect intended? Links are spreading all over the net (I've seen it in 4 or 5 different places in the last 10 minutes) so that everyone can have a good, hearty laugh at how Sony are idiots.

I'm thinking that if these guys wanted to get negative reactions and use that as a marketing tool....it's going to fail. This will get them attention but not profit. People still buying DS this holiday season. So whether it was intentional or not. This won't get the PSP sales up. Nice try..though.

December 12, 2006 - Last week IGN reported that a North Carolina teenager suspected of stealing two PlayStation 3's was shot and killed by police when they arrived at his home to arrest him. The victim, Peyton Strickland, was accused of assaulting a University of North Carolina-Wilmington student and stealing his new consoles.

The officer who fired the fatal shots, sheriff deputy Christopher Long, has been charged with second-degree murder and fired from his position.

Because police suspected Strickland might be carrying a gun, Long was part of a special unit sent to arrest the victim. When Strickland did not answer the door, officers used a battering ram to knock it down. Long believed the sound of the battering ram to be gunshots and began firing his weapon.

Strickland's roommates, who witnessed the shooting, said the victim was about to open the door when Long began firing. Bullets struck Strickland, who was unarmed at the time, in the head and shoulder. His dog, a German Shepherd, was also fatally injured.

Long, 34, is a 12-year veteran of the force, former instructor of law enforcement classes, and father of two. His bail has been set at $50,000.

He deserves everything he got. I feel no pity.

Kinda of sick note, whenever I read the part about the dog, I always have the image of that Chappelle episode about having a COPS show about CEO's...and where he shoots the dog. I dont laugh or anything, I just always have that image.
