Oh come on, quit whining. Those who do have one sacrificed their time and/or money for it, you know. I was in line for 10 hours, and that's on the low end of waiting time.
amen
15 hours for me
i was the first one in line
which means i was among the first people to get their nintendo wii
which for some reason makes me happy

15 hours? Holy hell....I could have walked in on launch day at midday and still picked one off the shelf in 5mins, you must have had crap launch numbers 😑

yeahh and i dont even live in a hugely populated area either
each store had about 18-25
and i called a few places ahead of time to see when was a good time to get there, and they said that the lines would probably be around 5-10 hours. I went there at 9 am and i was the first one there, the 2nd person in line came in at 930
so technically i could have only waited about 8 hours, but i would have been last in line
HMV have shot themselves in the foot with that stupid ass bundle they decided to put together consisting of PSP and PS3, although the PSP bundle is kinda cool considering its 4gig they are offering, but thats not the point, its stupid, and I wanna know which person is gonna pay for that unless they have lots of cash, its like 600 pounds or more, which is the equivaslent of $1000 or more. I could buy 1 PS3, 1 360 and like 3 Wiis from America with that kind of cash -_-.
People are quite annoyed at HMV for that, most likely people will go elsewhere to get thier PS3.
Have you seen that Japanese anime 360 game, dunno the name, but it looks really good, the animations are pretty fluent and smooth, got a bit too much talking though -_-, but I wouldn't mind picking it up if it doesnt remain a Japan exclusive game.
EDIT: Here it is: http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/08/todays-iest-video-the-idolmaster/ I like anime 🙂 BTW the name is Idolmaster. I can very briefly understand what they are talking about, but very very briefly, I am studying Japanese ^^

Yup...
Q: "Valve's Gabe Newell said [in a recent Game Informer interview] that the PS3 launch was a 'total disaster'. He isn’t the only developer who wanted me to ask this. Why wasn’t the launch postponed to say, spring, when many issues could have been resolved?"
Harrison started by asking: "By what measure is the launch of PS3 unsuccessful? We had people lined up in stores in three continents." However, he noted, "we can always sell more", and as for the company's plans, the European launch is "on track for March." The Sony VP particularly noted that "the boat with the first supply is on its way from China as we speak. I think it’s a fantastic achievement."
First the 360 now Guitar hero is coming to the Wii.

Yay! Rubber Duckie, now Gears has got some serious competition, oh no, the killer ap of rubber ducky, a force not to be reckoned with, roflmao.
Dirkdirden, unfortunatly that role has already been taken by the queen of Englan, all she ever does is have majorly boring speeches, waves and smiles 🙂
Personally I wouldn't say the PS3 launch was a DISASTER, but I would say it wasn't as good as I would have hoped, I think thats partially down to the following:
- Press
- Ebay sellers
- Crime - (Uncivilised Americans, lol (not all, just those specifics))
- Price point
- Lack of great games
Could have been worse, theres still time to change all that and pretend it never happened, but that may take a while, fisrt of all they'll have to get that price down and that games library back up to PS2 standards, because even the biggest of PS lovers (the Japanese) are going Wii direction.
Now come on ppl, you have gotta admit, rubber ducky is certainly worth $600 🙂 lmao, I mean, the only place you can get gameplay like that is in your bath tub. lol, now they just need a rubber ship and bubble bath as downloadable extras, and my god, this will be the greatest game in history, lmao.
I think it was a disaster
1st they delayed the release
2nd they didn't release it world wide
3rd the only had 200,000 for North America.
There was already bad press surrounding the PS3 but it wasn't tell they delayed it's release that the bad press went rampant. Then there decision to not release globally will hurt sales when they final decide to get Europe the PS3.
even after all that delaying and not releasing world wide they only had 200,000 systems for north America even, the bad press got bad enough that even fanboys questioned weather to buy it or not. If they would have had 600,000 ps3 then the ps3 might not have went crazy online and the demand might not have died as fast as it did.
Sony could have prevented the entire thing by delaying the consoles release for the spring of 2007 at there first delay and kept it a global release and have more than just one game. If they did that the system would be selling like hot cakes even with the high price tag.
Me as a huge fan of Sony was disappointed.

At this point it just sounds like a broken record player.
