Hmmm....I wonder if rubber ducky will go multiplat, I mean, all that greatness cant remain on one console, lets all spread rumours, I'll start with Joystiq. lol
There's not only competition within the games industry, there's a lot of competition in entertainment in general that's going to take [consumers] away, so we want to keep people in gaming. If our competitors get people in the aisle, looking at gaming, reading gaming magazines, we feel that's in our best interest -- we've pulled them away from other forms of entertainment.
Then why is Sony pushing the media side of the PS3 so hard, bragging about Blu-Ray, music, and browsers? Seems more like they're trying to pull gamers into other forms of entertainment.
Not to mention it's a foolish idea anyway. I enjoy movies, music, and books, but I still play games. Where did Mr. Tretton get the idea that people can only enjoy one form of entertainment at a time?
I would say that the PS3 has the best gaming experience of any platform that's ever shipped day one. [You're getting] the combination of great gaming, free online play, Blu-ray movie playback, being able to go online and surf the Internet, the ability to download your pictures, download your videos, rip your music to it ... and that's all stuff that I as a consumer experienced firsthand.
...Didn't he say best gaming experience? What "great" gaming, Resistance? The rest of it is an average PC experience...
If you want the ultimate gaming experience and you value all of those other experiences, all of a sudden 599 bucks doesn't sound like a whole lot of money.Ignoring the "ultimate gaming experience" crap... yeah, it still kinda does.
Sony seriously needs to stop talking to interviewers. It just makes them worse and worse.
Proably becuase there isn't enough to talk about for each system yet. There could be a 360 thread they have enough content but Wii and PS3 proably don't. they already have a Resistance thread that covers the PS3, and Zelda covers the Wii for now.
If you started a ps3 thread it proably wouldn't get closed, but who knows.

Well, yeah, no one likes the PS3 here. But the Wii is getting into swing, and Xbox 360 speaks for itself.
.........I like PS3 I just don't like the people who run it.....Sony is the stupid. But I'm kind of force to like the PS3 becuase 90% of the games I play are RPG and the other 10% are games like Katamari, castlevania, supermonkey ball and sony has them too.

Why are the next gen consoles still confined to one thread? Seems like there'd be a fresh one for each, especially since they're current gen consoles, and have been for months, and in one case, over a year.
Why not just start one maybe it will be popular who knows but its just a lot easier to go into one thread instead of three.
Yup.
In an ideal world I don't think they would have done, in roder to further reduce costs, but they had to else it wouldn't really be backwardly compatible with GC games, the GC controller being so much unlike the Wii's. So the Wii was built with GC controller ports in, the only plug-in controller ports it has.
I hate sony. After being a loyal customer starting with the ps1 in 95 and then the ps2 in 2001(?). What they have done with the ps3 has just pissed me off. They decide to delay the launch in the UK for a further 4 months instead of the world wide launch they promised us and on top of that we are only being offered the more pricey version of the console. Pricks. I am considering buying a wii as I have always been a fan of Nintendo and it seems to be a pretty fun console however its quite apparent that its the least powerful of the next gen consoles but the interactivity possibilities of the wii is incredible.

Do they work on Wii games or only Gamecube ones?
i think that you can use GC controllers for the VC games, and i also think that the GC controller is going to be compatible with super smash bros brawl, because nintendo has said "not to throw away your GC controllers for super smash just yet" or something like that
i think there is going to be a wii and GC controller comaptibility w/ brawl(which i CANNOT wait for)
There is actually a direct irritation that the Classic Controllers do not work on mainstream games as of yet- this was of particular relevance to the metal Slugh Anthology, where the GC controller worked and the Classic, which would have been perfect for it, does not.
It's possible I might have to buy a GC one. Actually, I never played Wind Waker so I might as well have ended up doing that anyway, but the issue is still vexing.
