i think revolution was too typical a name. it was only a matter of time till sony or ms used that generic name. really, cant you picture "Xbox revolution"? bleh. not nintendo's style.
...but i still hate "wii". and their long winded explanation...just a prime example of a bloated marketing department running amuck. i wonder how many hours upon hours it took, with brainstorming, focus groups, and designing etc to come up with that crap.

Ok Mr. AC, your analogies are very flawed. What your forgetting is that the Wii's old name/codename was actually Revolution. Everybody has called it Revolution since its existence. Spiderman was never named "bluewebman," nobody ever called him that. And this person here wasnt named Bert, and if he was and then got his name changed to "whatever," then its perfectly understandable for people to still call him Bert, cuz theyre so used to it...and it would be even more understandable if his new name was something really dumb.....like Wii or something.
We can call it whatever we want, especially if were calling it by its codename, and especially if its new name doesnt sound good at all...

My analogies are flawed, yet "We can call it whatever we want" is not a suitable logic? I think you need to go back to the drawing board my friend.
I'm not forgetting anything. I know what it was called and I know what people called it, the point of my analogies still very much remains. It WAS called something, it is now called something else. It's not called both. If something changes it's name and you continually refer to it by it's old one because you aren't used to the new one, then I fear for you and your lack of willpower. How much of a challenge is it to call it "Wii"? None, to anyone with cognitive abilities beyond that of a cactus.

THAT is a retarded analogy. You don't call an album by a totally different name just because you don't like the one it's got do you? No, or if you do...then you are very much adopting an idiotic logic (or lack thereof). It's nothing to do with being used to it, because I've been as used to calling it the Revolution as anyone else has and I can call it the Wii as easily as I just typed the word. It doesn't take any effort, at all. So the reason must be that you just don't like the name, and calling something what it isn't based on that, is stupid.
