Just got a question for you US people, what are the best/cheapest stores to get games at in the US?

I am asking because I have a friend who lives in the US atm and he is coming back home this Christmas, so I am planing on maybe using him to get some X-Box 360 games (those that are region free ofc) for me, as games in the US is approximately 50% cheaper then those here in Norway (average X-Box 360 game cost 100$ here). So just wondered where it would be wisest to send him to get some of the games.

Unless there's a sale, games will cost the same no matter what store you go to.

Unless you go on Internet shopping

Same deal, though. Except for sales, they're largely going to be the same price. Retailers don't set the price, the game companies do, and retailers can be find for selling at a different price.

The only other exception than sales is used games.

Ok, what about selection?
Just need a few names to look up on their websites, only few stores in the US I know the name of is BestBuy, Walmart and Gamestop, and I am even unsure whether or not Walmart is a shop or a shopping center...

Amazon.com
Ebay in a way

Gamestop, Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, Walmart...all sell video games. Game Crazy does as well but I think most are closing down (they all have in my area). Gamestop and Game Crazy are your best bet for used stuff/older games.

(Walmart is a store, btw)

I said retailers. People selling on Amazon for under retail price are generally either selling used or are individual people. Ebay is just individual people selling stuff. They don't count.

Hey hey no need to bite my head of Ok
just a suggestion sorry... but Amazon sell from there own supply as well as other's but Walmart would be a good place I think.

Very Snappy today

Aha

Your best bet for finding a deal is calling around the day of release, many larger stores will be selling the game for about $10 cheaper than normal on the first week of release. Fry's Electronics always has good deals for big new games the first few days.

Best Buy generally does that.

I dont buy new games from EB anymore.

I do like EB because as Lana said, they do have older games and I can always find an older PC game for less than 20 bucks.

you have to look around more then anything

of the top of my head: Ratchet and Clank, Resistance, Ninja Gaiden, Warhawk, Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword, among others... might not be many but they are there

Resistance is a decent shooter at best that cannot hope to be compared to others like Gears of War or BioShock. And why get Ninja Gaiden on the PS3 when it's already out on the Xbox and a sequel for the 360. Not to mention Heavenly Sword is too short to even waste the money when you can just play God of War 1 and 2 on the much cheaper PS2.

And Warhawk is a remake of the orginal on the PS1 which doesn't do much for third-person shooters and Ratchet and Clank has some solid platforming and shooting but you have to go through all that other crap. Seriously they added everything in that game that they could think. No one seems to know the word "no". And seriously Motorstorm? Forza Motorsport 2, Project Gotham Racing 3, and (next month) Need for Speed Most Wanted.

360 AND Wii Have so much better games then the PS3

I hear good vibes about this 'Zak and Wiki' game, though.

It is a good game, probably the best 3rd party game released so far(obviously excluding RE4).

If you guys are into Puzzle and, in a way, GraphicAdventures, this game it's perfect for you... I played it just the first level (I have yet to buy it though), and somehow it remind me of Lost Vikings for Snes, but the Wiimote gives it a fresh sensation.

Hopefully 3rd Parties continue to make games like this one, or else the Wii will fall flat out on its butt

that's just your opinion. I played those games (except Warhawk) and I was entertained for the amount of time I played them... I consider them good games (RC a great game) and they are some of the best games out for PS3.... and yet there's time for other games to come out such as FFXIII, Versus and MGS4.

and Yes, MotorStorm... it is good... I think It's much better than ExciteTruck

Well according to an article in Game Informer many 3rd Party Developers didn't want to make exclusive games for the Wii because they didn't know if the Wii would be a success or a flop but with the huge sales the Wii has have many 3rd PD have gone on to make exclusive games for the Wii.

Lost Vikings was a great game for the in order of realese PC, SNES/SEGA, GBA

i personally dont think the ps3 has a many games worth purchasing right now. The 360 is definetly a better buy right now.

The 360 has a year's lead on the PS3 and the Wii and it has some great games out for it right now including a few good ones coming up like Blue Dragon.

It has great games
