It comes down to parents, more then the games, they should be responsible, and not play those games, or allow their children to play them, killers existed before games, I mean the first few games were not violent at all.

Most people think it sucked 😛

My 6 year old sister would probably think it sucks. Then again, she plays Mario constantly on her DS and is bugging me to let her play Phantom Hourglass, so she's already not quite a kiddy gamer. I'm turning her into such a little clone of myself...😊

(she also loves watching me play Blue Dragon and Bioshock. Little brat gets less freaked out by that game than I do!)

I was always in the opinion that kids know shit from good. If a game is good, then its good but if the game is shit, the kids generally dont play it.

Spiderman: FoF is a shit game. I couldnt even get past the first bad guy because I was already bored. What do you think a kid is going to do if I find it boring?

Selling yourself kind of short there aren't you?

Anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

Kids dont have patience compared to most adults.

A shitty game that a adult cant play because its boring usually means that a kid will probably find it boring.

Some would say that it does.............and that's where murderers come from.

Are you one of those mothers from those day time televeision shows that makes me wonder why the hell i should care?

Well, you should.

People shouldn't be playing violent video games at such a young age because it affects their mind in a negative way.

No it doesn't.

Violent video games only affect kids who are already "unbalanced".

There has never been a single credible study that actually says that.

Not really, you're just talking about gullible people.

monkey see, monkey do, right?

Oh please, not this idiocy again. Not one study has ever put forth conclusive evidence that there is a connection between violent games and murder. Most sane people can tell the difference between reality and a game - the lack of buttons and a decent HUD in Reality kind of messes up that possibility.

I even think that teenage murder rates have been drastically since the earlier 90's.

I think the whole agruement is complete shit about how violence creates teen violence but I do agree that videogames should be rated similiar to movies.

Games are not the basis for killers, those who take drugs can become killers from the effects of drugs, those who have been abused can end up like that, those who's parents are push and are unhappy can become murderers, games are meant to be away of going into another world, things that are not possible, an interactive fantasy, that for most people they can go in and out of, it is a bit obvious that it is not real life.

I've been playing violent games since I was around 4 (Doom and Mortal Kombat!) and yet it seems I smart enough to know the difference between real and fake. You actually think video games is a bad influence?

Families would take their children out to hilltops to have picnics and watch Civil War battles. Now watching thousands of actual people kill each other by gunfire and stabbing and using their guns as clubs was never called into question about influencing violence. The problem isn't games, it's the damn parents who can't control their kids and so they try to blame something else. What those kids need is a good ass beating to put them straight in their place but that would scar the child and blah, blah, blah.

I'm so glad I live in the age of panzies.

thats bullshit. people make decisions everyday. look i grew up around house hold violance and let me tell you something the only thing effecting kids at a young age are parental abuse or witnessing violance in the home. my dad is in death row for killing his first wife. i wasnt born yet. even though kids have characheristics of there parents personaly games music and movies are not to blame. we have a ratings board for these things. kids who go shoot others or kill people is either living in a bad enviorment or feel neglected. if you look at gangs in california kids are born into that life by parents who are gang members themselves. if violent games codone people to those acts then please tell me how come kids dont enlist into the armed forces after playing call of duty? if games take people over like you say please show evidence of what i stated otherwise sit down and shut up.

In order to prevent this thread from being too hostile, I'll just change the subject. 🙂

Who do you all think will release the next video game system between Nintendo and Sony?

....er Sony?

Well Sony has been saying all this stuff about how long the PS3 will last and what not so Nintendo is my guess.

Yes, they have referred to it being a ten year project.

It's damn tough to call though, because technically speaking (douvble meaning there...) the Wii is already outdated in the way that normally measures the lifespan of a console- and it doesn't care.

So at what point does the Wii actually need replacing? That's rather hard to tell.
