Oblivion, CoD4 and Bioshock Ive got on PC so I dont need to get them again. Watched a Burnout vid and it looks pretty cool, might give it a rent later on.

COD4, Bioshock, and Blue Dragon. Also, curse you, I want Lost Odyssey so bad but have to wait another day still...
I looked everywhere for it and only 2 shops had it, and I wasnt going to buy a 360 without both games. The CGI scenes looks amazing.
Has anyone played Turok yet?
Haven't played it though everyone I know who has has been very underwhelmed and unimpressed.
Overlord is great for the sheer silly fun of it.
And tomorrow I'm getting Lost Odyssey and then not letting my brother touch the 360 until I've gotten a good chunk into it. Woohoo for the 360 finally having a decent RPG!

Hey guys I have a problem. When I play games on the Wii I notices some little speckles on the screen that seem out of place. Originally I thought it was my tv but there's nothing wrong with movies when i play them or shows. What should I do?
Congratulations!!! your Wii is on the road of being dead 😈
my most heart felt condolences
This is your problem, Isn't it?
J/K
I should know cuz I got the same problem
All you have to do is call Nintendo, tell them you have the artifacting problem (they will know what you're talking about).
I haven't tried this yet, (cuz I currently can't), but as far as I know, they will offer you two options:
1- Send you a brand new Wii (you lose all the information in your Wii such as Miis, saved games and most importantly, and painfully, all the VC games you've downloaded)
2- If you don't want to lose your VC games, you can send your current Wii for repairs. (They will change the CPU and GPU, the culprits, and keep everything else... they will also change the serial number)
It doesn't matter if your warranty it's up, they should give you these options regardless, it is, after all, their fault
I think you won't have to pay for anything, they'll send you a pre-paid UPS shipping label
What causes this problem? Overheating
the GPU overheats and displays this black, white pixels, vertical lines and artifacting. Once you see this problem, the only solution is to send it in for repairs, or getting a new one.
this is a pretty common problem with older Wiis, I think the D2C Wii versions were released to correct this problem... at least that's what I want to think 😬
So the 360 has the ring of death problem
the Wii's has the artifacting problem
what does the PS3 have?
awww. both options sound horrible. I was just in the middle of RE4 Wii edition. But what the heck i only got like 4 games and no VC games but the only problem with doing that is that I probably won't get it in time for Brawl. I think I'll wait a little bit before I send it. I mean it irks me but not enough to wait to play Brawl. But hey not like I have to face it dying from teh Ring of Death.
I wouldn't really know (I mean when it'll be a good time to send it) but I think the faster you do it, the better.
maybe it's just me, but my problem has only gotten worse (not as worse as in the video above, but not as it was when I first noticed). I only see the problem in some games, it's at its worst in Rayman RR, and in some levels in the Simpsons Game, but in other it pops up eventually. Luckily I barely notice it in Galaxy.
Funny thing it's that GameCube games don't have a single problem whatsoever
If you're planning on waiting, there's some suggestion I could give you:
- Use the Wii in vertical position at all times
- Try not to use WiiConnect when the console it's off, always unplug the power cord. (I'm not sure about that, but many people blame WiiConnect for the problem, cuz they say it overheats because it's, in a way, still on and the cooling fan isn't working)
- Get one of those USB cooling fans (or the NYKO fan that connects directly from the power cord)
I think your best option (if they give it to you) it's to ask for a new console (save your saved games on a SD card).
It takes around 5-7 days for the pre-paid label to arrived, another 7 days for your Wii to arrive at Nintendo, and about another week (or 2) for you to get your new console.
About the TV: You need the components cables to display games in 480p. The cable that comes in the box it's just a regular A/V cable

Those are more likely to mess the system up more than help it, since they draw directly off the system's power and thus draw power away from the system itself.
I've read good reviews about that fan... (the first 360 fan released had problems because it was made of plastic... and it melted. The new ones are made of metal)
but any other kind of fan should help cooling the system, I guess
I don't know what effect this will have on the Current-Gen, but...

The format war is now over. Toshiba is abandoning HD-DVD.

PS3 pwned?
In other words, did the PS3 have very much to do with Blu-ray winning the format war?
I would think that the PS3 is what started it...followed by BlockBuster...then Netflix...then Walmart. Opinions?
