Last-Gen Console Discussions (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii)

With all due respect, Sony selling their BS3 based on potential is probably what did it.

They sold consoles based on two games, that's it; Metal Gear and Final Fantasy.

You can't survive like that now.

It really is money. Developers don't think that making games solely for the PS3 is going to earn them enough money, especially with how difficult the PS3 is to develop for.

Sense of self expression I guess. Anyway, used videogame sales are hurting the business.

You feel a sense of self-expression in the console you buy?

This is getting out of hand. What happened to buying consoles regardless of stupid loyalty, because the games were good?

Not really. I mean, the game was already purchased as new so it's not like money was lost off of it. Rentals probably hurt more.

It's also the only way to find a lot of games.

I know, I was just being silly. I'd hope and assume most people buy their consoles because of preferring the games that are out on it.

I just never, ever understood the point of buying consoles as early as people bought the PS3, for games that come out...very much later.

Why not wait, see what happens, and if nothing good comes out, just buy it when the game arrives, when it's probably cheaper anyway?

To be honest, I haven't understood why people buy consoles at launch from right about when the PS2 came out and cost around your soul and mother.

I don't know if the game will be ported. I am sure the game CAN be ported with a couple of DVDs. However I think Koojima doesn't want it. He has said it a couple of times now, but he isn't the company so if the company gives the game to another team so that they port it they better get it right. Me I don't really care since I've already bled my copy of Guns of the Patriots.

Awesome... Loved the "It's a PS3 joke on 360"

... most likely, regardless of what console it's on, it's just a new Metal Gear (whichever will be) and not a MGS4 port...

The Wii was worth getting at launch.
