Mine does but I've found a way to live with it and most of the time, prevent it. Moments before it's about to scratch the disc the fans slow down 'til the console's almost entirely silent and as soon as you hear a slightly metallic ticking immediately eject the disc and re-insert it again. It almost never happens again after its first try.

Well, also keep in mind that 360s were significantly more expensive when they came out, and were still more expensive last year when I bought mine, even though the price had already dropped once 😛

Oh... yeah, I don't think you'll be able to find a "cheap", version of Final Fantasy 7. That game lone goes for like 70 bucks on most sites I've seen.

The PC version was so rubbish I am almost tempted to tell you to buy a PS copy and emulate... if getting the PS bioses was not illegal.

Unless your friend owns a PS, in which case he can have the bioses backed up on his PC.

I wouldn't play it on PC anyway, not even for $20, turn based RPGs are just better for consoles. Wonder if they'll do a PSP port, that would be alright to play.

i know its hard to get working and such, but getting it on ps just isn't an option...

Why don't you buy her a PS One and Final Fantasy ... you'll probably still safe money on the PC version...and have it in good.
