It's not just that it is hard to get working- the control scheme was atrocious.
Ah, look, darn it- just get some PSone bioses to her and buy her a PS version and emulate. It's a MUCH better experience and the relevant people are still getting their money cut. In fact I would go as far to say that morally speaking it is much better than buying a PC version these days, as you can be sure that it is only the retailer benefitting there if you buy at an outrageous price for PC, not Sony or Squarenix.

I got 2 copies, both for PS: one first edition, and the other is a Greatest Hit (green) version... oddly enough the green one was much more expensive then the black one
in other words: much easier to find it for PS than PC.... trust me, cuz I looked like crazy for that one and never found it....

Something I heard about people doing WD to get another system quick, buy a new one at Costco (assuming you have a membership), then switch out the consoles, returning the broken one and keeping the new one. Costco has a really lax return policy so you should get away with it. If mine ever red rings again I'll probably do that.
Dunno about legal...but..noo...it really isn't honest thing to do. Besides my cousin tried that with his 360 at Best Buy and Fry's but he was rejected on the spot.

It's so friggin ironic! Mine was the original from 2005 and I only experience a few freezes or slow pixels but nothing like last night. The green ring was on and the picture went blank....then black so I turn it off and the on and (((RED RING OF DEATH)))
