Racing games suck!!!!!!!!!!! you gotta do something than drive damnit..like Diddy kong racing, mario karet, and the onl;y racing game thats fun that is not those is Burnout.

I just don't get why people want real realism. What's the point?

But some people find it fun.
I like realistc sport games because I wont get a chance to play hockey, football or baseball anymore.

Sports games I can relate to.

Pro Evolution Soccer doesn't exactly have a set outcome. Each game can be different, vastly. Same with most sports games.

You have to constantly be aware. The only thing you have to do in a racing game is get first and keep it. I personally think it's pointless.

What do you think about Burnout?

is it comprehensible.....

A novelty game, just like State of Emergency.

Once the initial main quality wears off, the game is useless.

@ lana, wouldnt it be beneficial to make a thread for each console to avoid this very nonesense? just throwing out the idea, since this is the equivalent of having a joint starwars/startrek forum. it just seems like trolling fanboy bait and really its inevitable that such a thread would routinely degrade into a nonesense "vs" thread.

😆 😆

Most fun racing games I liked are Diddy Kong racing,Burnout, Mario Kart, Cruising USA, and Rush for the 64.

PS3 is cheaper

I personally (yes, I know personally) never saw any fun at all in sitting there driving a car around a track. Infact, the most boring thing they could do was make it MORE realistic.

If anything, make it more unrealistic, it'll be more fun that way.

I have a problem with that "If it ain't broke..." adage. If you've got a good formula, make one to the best of your ability, then make another one when you actually have better things to add. Don't make one for every slight graphic update. One Gran Turismo per system, I can understand maybe. We're talking 5 releases over two consoles.

"We can add drivers! Let's make a whole new game for it!" "No! Let's release a new game but it's not new, it just has 3 new test tracks." Why not just add them anyway? If you have the ability to make it, don't skimp and then release it later, that's stupid.

Well, for the people who like GT, I don't think altering the game mechanics to make it more arcade-like would be a wise decision for them. GT has always been the racing simulator, that's their tag for it. There are plenty of arcade style racing games that are available for every console, the GT games have their own set of fans carved out, and they're substantial, changing the game would systematically alienate the fans of the series and would hurt the game more than anything.

I agree that some companies make too many games without really adding much, GT is one of them. But still, I'd rather them do that then start making unnecessary changes just for the sake of making changes. If game companies start doing that then they're going to end up screwing their games up and making them worse. Change, when necessary, is a great thing. But if it's not necessary it's going to end up just messing up something that's good.

True, I also enjoy sports game for their unlimited replay value. I currently have played over 100 american football games and I'm not bored with it. But I cant play Half Life 2 again after the 2nd time because all the thrills that come from it got tedious (damn headcrabs)

I also agree with racing games. To me, I just rent racing games so I can have those 2 days of driving super fast cars. Project Gotham Racing 3 is one those games you have to play just to see the amazing in car graphics, but after the 18 something race, it got soo tedious.

I downloaded the demo for Project Gothan Racing 3 on my 360.

Ironically, it's all I'll ever need of that game. 😛

Yeah, its not great.

But the in-car view is something to be seen. In most car games, I never use the in-car view, but in this one, oh baby it was sweet. It really felt like I was driving an supercar.

Racing games need more true in car views instead of bumper cams. ✅

Gran Turismo needs to ****ing add real damage to the cars.

I like to play Nascar games, only I get bored really easy, so I turn my car around and race in the opposite direction and cause as much mayhem as possible.

The only racing games I seriously play are Burnout, Mario Kart, and F-Zero. 😛

No, not that it's bad (for all I know it's a great racing game), but I can never get into racing games. They just don't hold my attention.

And the in-car view is f*ckin awesome in that game. ✅

Yeah, it is.

From the headlights, mirrors and that ability to actually drive from in car view its pretty good. Also, its a sight to see when you crash into the barrier and how your car reacts to it while being in car.

The game though isnt that great. It's just racing, while they're is a bunch of different races, they tend to get pretty dull.
