Im still deciding which system to get first...

Wii or XBOX360? 🙁

well, look at the prices. 360 isnt going to have that much new stuff, its more expensive, and mabey its just cause im a xbox hater, but I think the game selection is terrible. And also consider the 4 Gc cntrller slots and 2 GC memry crd slots, AND the 20 year library. Its Wii all the way for me

Depends what kind of games you want to play. Wii will have many of the classic expected Nintendo games, and most (hopefully) will make good use of the new control scheme. But, I'd bet that there will be just as many stupid gimmick games making lazy use of the new control schemes. Also expect some games to shoehorn the feature in like many DS games have done with the touch screen. Also, if graphics matter to you, keep in mind the Wii's graphics are only slightly better than the gamecube quality graphics. Doesn't really matter at this point in time because Gamecube quality graphics are still nice looking (RE4 still looks amazing). But in 4 years when we're seeing the graphical quality of the PS3 and 360 games peak and look amazing, the Wii will still have slightly better gamecube graphics. To put it in more dramatic terms, think about playing a gamecube game a year ago if the gamecube had N64 quality graphics. But, if you don't care about graphics then this won't be a problem. Plus no one really knows how well the wiimote will work or if it will take off or flop.

The 360 is the PS2 of this generation, a nice midrange system that plays normal games....normally. Isn't really doint much to push anything forward, playing it pretty safe, which could be seen as good or bad, depending on your opinions.

I'd say you wait until both systems are out.

I agree.

You cant really say that the Wii would be a better choice. It hasnt been out yet. Sure, the systems sounds amazing, and it it works, Im definitly jumping in line to pick up my 3rd Nintendo system, but, you cant say to chose the Wii over the 360. You never know, the Wii could turn out to be like Virtual Boy, or just a gimmick as BackFire said.

I agree... again.

Well, it depends on what you want to do with these systems. Ifyou like the old Nintendo games, Then the wii is the choice for you because they have released pics on the retro cntrller, and it looks just like the super.

If you like the Halo series, or you want great graphics or great online gameplay, then youre gonna want the 360. But, whatever happens, if you dont know which one to buy, you probly want to wait untill they are all out.

im gonna get wii...nothings gonna change my mind about that....

I have an XBOX 360 and I love it.

Being a huge of Nintendo and never owning any other system aside from PC, having an XBOX felt dirty and slutty. But during the course of last generation, they're were a ton of games I kind of wished I played. So I decided that I'll have the PC for my FPS fetish, Nintendo for Nintendo games and XBOX 360 for anything else.

But I dont know if I'll get an Wii. My TV has an delay between the input of the controller to what's happening on the screen. It's very slight with the XBOX 360 in 1080i with Monster Cables, but the Gamecube using the standard hook-up, it was almost unplayable in certain games (MVP 2005 for instance). I presume that Wii will have the standerd hook-up, and a controller that requires point prescision, it might not work for my TV. So it kinda of sucks, but I have a feeling Gears of War and Lost Planet will tide me over.

I agree with Smasandian that you cant say the Wii is better when we havent seen what its capable of doing yet and we also dont know if the controller is as good either.

Well to be honest I am planning on getting both systems no matter what but I just dont know which one to get first. However I tend to wait at least a 6 months to a year before I purchase a new system because they usually have problems at first like XBOX360 did. Chances are I will get a XBOX360 and then Wii next year.

On another note I found a good article to read very short too.
http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3403&Itemid=2

It's good but too really get an accurate info about what people want to buy, they need to do surveys of more than just 100 people or so.

They need atleast 1000 to get an accurate show.

I never take surveys as legitamate source to predit anything. What could of happen was that the writer took people's answers right beside an Sony tradeshow or something. Or something very similiar.

Todays articles are 'update news' on the Wii and PS3 more specific is about them being in the assembly lines now. (Both really short)

Heres a question for everyone:

Which next-gen system do you think is going to sell best?

I'd go and say 360.

PS3 is, for obvious reasons, not going to do nearly as well as the other two consoles.

The Wii, while it looks promising, we're not even sure if the whole motion sensing controller will catch on. Besides, I think it's going to lose out with the casual gamers. I don't know about you guys, but my friends that are "casual gamers" have not accepted the idea of the Wii. Another point to bring up is the library of old games. This is the one aspect of the console that I'm looking forward to, even more than the controller.

The 360 is going to do big. It's an all-around quality console, with a good library of games that will keep on growing. I think, as Backfire as said several times (and I agree with him), it will be this generation's PS2. It's already got its foot in the door, and it's fan base will continue to grow.

I think it will be 360 on top, then the Wii (Although, the Wii is highly dependent on whether or not the public accepts the idea. For all we know, it could be a failure.), and then the PS3, because of it's Tom Cruise attitude and it's $600 price point.

🙂

My friends loved the idea of the controller. I think it will sell well, but the graphics in 4 years are seriously going to hurt it.

I don't know about that. While the Wii's graphical power is definitely lower than that of the 360, the texture shortcut it's using instead can do some pretty amazing things.

Not from what I've seen. I still think that the system will be hell alot of fun to play, but in the long run, it's going to be brutal graphically.

graphics dont sway me either way, its a bonus when a good game has good graphics. but i think like myself the majority of people look for good gameplay over graphics so it shouldnt really matter as long as nintendo keeps knocking out good games.

If developers can utilize the controller very good than nintendos graphics shouldnt make that much of a difference because the majority of people go for gameplay, you can easily see it in video game reviews.
