I'd like to think that part of my happiness is a product of my own hard work and dedication and not necessarily the way a worship God. The two (happiness and being a Mormon) are not mutually exclusive but they are not the same thing either. (I think you are thinking "duh" at this point.)

Go make or deliver dinner for a couple that just had a baby, mend the fence for an old man, and visit a family and talk with them about their well being for an hour and/or help them. Let me know if it makes you happier.
