I agree with you that people should not be he bashing your religion, but you said something that got my interest. Below is a link to show the wives of of Brigham Young.
http://www.cc.utah.edu/~jay/Brigham_Young/Brigham_Young.html
This shows that Clarissa Decker was 15 when she married Brigham Young. You said "he didnt have anything to do with minors". Can you explain how a 15 years old girl is not a minor?
brigham young was a great man and you guys laud his fame.oh yeah what a great man, according to his mormon ways he could marry multiple women, but when faced with lawsuit of alimony by ex wives he argued his case that he was not legally married thus didnt have to pay alimony........ohyeah a really stand up for ones belief kind of guy
he didnt have anything to do with minorswho mentioned minors? like them young and minors aint the same
maybe if for once you listened to anything someone of intellegence saidguess thats exclude listening to any mormons then ๐ฑ ๐คฃ sorry it screamed for that reply

Ok the calling people stupid at times was not needed, so please dont call anybody stupid anymore. We as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints do not have many wives, nor have we for a LONG time. Eight years, if I am correct, before it was illegal to marry many, the church got rid of it. We did not get rid of that belief because a law was passed, but we got rid of it because it was a practice we should not have taken on. We are humans, and we may misunderstand certain things. The church in it's early years was not that stable, because it was constantly moving it seemed, and the Prophet was rarely near most the people. It also struggled from having to deal with people who hated the church, and attacked the church. So, of course since there wasnt a nice way to keep communication together, things got misunderstood. Mistakes were made, but being the true church of Christ, it was soon corrected. And with Brigham Young marrying a minor. Okay, I do not know the age of his wife, but if she was 15 then she was. She was not considered a minor back in those days. If I am not mistaken, the average age that people got married back then was 16, so 15 would not have been so wierd. I mean people only lived to be like 40 or 50, but rarely older than that. So, they learned to do things a lot sooner. The people in this day have a completely DIFFERENT lifestyle, and have accepted to it, and also gained about 20 years on our life than those in the mid to late 1800's. This is why people study history, and this is why for us members it is important to study the church's history. We all are humans, we misunderstand things. Never forget that, but I still know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church, and nothing shall budge that knowledge.
Ohh, and thank you for saying we're nice people. And I appologize if you ever meet a member of the church who was mean. If you have one be mean to you, confront them with it, and ask them if Christ would be doing what they are... if that don't shut them up, then I don't know what will. Get mean with them if you want, but show them you can be a bigger man, and like totally hurt them... or better woman in the females case. Thank you though for saying we're clean cut, and nice. I really appreciate that, and appreciate the credit you're giving us but we cannot do it without the help of our Heavenly Father, so give Him the credit!

So, ok. Homosexuality is wrong because the bible says it's wrong.
If that's your logic then since the bible also says it's ok to have slaves, logically, it's ok.
The Bible does NOT say it is okay to have slaves. Read, and ponder it a little more. You'll understand it if you would read the entire thing instead of just a couple scriptures at a time.
Lev. 25:39-40
And if they brother that dwelleth by thee be waxen poor, and be sold unto thee; thou shalt not compel him to serve as a bondservant;
But as an hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall be with thee, and shall serve thee unto the year of jubile;
That just stated instead of having a slave, have a servant whom you pay. Not a slave, so please next time before you use scripture, please read before and after it to get it's FULL meaning. Sorry if I seem offensive, but I don't like how you're sticking to this slavery thing. It is not right before the site of God to have a slave. We are using scriptures to teach you, if you're willing to learn, because they seem to be the only source that you would be willing to learn. There are other revelations that we have to help us know slavery is wrong, and know other things from God. But the scriptures, or the Bible are the only things you are willing to soften your heart the slightest bit to understanding. Sorry if I offended you, but next time read before and after your scripture reference so you might have a better understanding itself.
My friend joined the forums, but could not post her comment, and I think I just figured out why so I shall help her fix that later, but here is what she wanted to post...
"First of all Ramses is correct...we do not need to get to the point in this forum where people are getting disrespectful of other peoples opinions. You can learn about other religions/culturs etc. withought bashing on them or pointing individuals out and criticizing them. Whether you're Christian, Mormon, Hindu, Agnostic, Atheist...you pick...it doesn't matter...respect for other human beings is universal and should be acted upon as such.
I do believe people should learn about other faiths and cultures though. So asking civilized questions is a good thing...and i'm sure that's what this forum was started for.
Ignorance is not bliss.
If you seriously want to learn a little about mormonism and bring it back here to talk about check out www.mormon.org or www.lds.org those are official church websites and will tell you the truth about the churches stances and views...it also has the scriptures online at lds.org. This will help you more than many people can. However you can read what you want there and bring it back here with questions.
Lets just try to stay nice here"
I agree with her, and those two sites are very awesome sites for learning about the church!
